  • Patent number: 10251621
Abstract: A method and system acquiring, processing and displaying breast ultrasound images in a way that makes breast ultrasound screening more practical and thus more widely used, and reduces the occurrence of missing cancers in screening and diagnosis, using automated scanning of chestwardly compressed breasts with ultrasound. Enhanced, whole-breast navigator overview images are produced from scanning breasts with ultrasound that emphasize abnormalities in the breast while excluding obscuring influences of non-breast structures, particularly those external to the breast such as ribs and chest wall, and differentiating between likely malignant and likely benign abnormalities and otherwise enhancing the navigator overview image and other images, thereby reducing the time to read, screen, and/or diagnose to practical time limits and also reduce screening or diagnostic errors.

  • Patent number: 9959385
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for securely messaging healthcare entities. In one scenario, a computer system receives an input from a user indicating that a message including text or other characters is to be securely transmitted to a specified healthcare entity. The message is part of a conversation between a user and the specified healthcare entity. The computer system encrypts the characters of the message using at least one encryption algorithm, so that the message is encrypted during the transfer from the user to the specified healthcare entity. The computer system then initiates transmission of the encrypted message such that the encrypted message is sent to the specified healthcare entity. Throughout the process, the encrypted message is transferred in accordance with legal regulations governing healthcare communications.

  • Patent number: 9916418
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to detecting and uploading measurement data of a non-connected medical measuring device. Embodiments include capturing an image of an identification object and a beginning event image of a medical measuring device and extracting identification data from the image of the identification object. Based on detecting that the identification object has been removed, an ending event image of the medical measuring device is captured. Embodiments include determining if a measurement event has occurred by comparing the ending event image and the beginning event image. Based on determining that the measurement event occurred, a measurement data of the ending event image is extracted and upload to a personal health record database.

  • Patent number: 9662036
Abstract: In a method for generating a tomographic image, at a first point in time, a first tomographic image is acquired of a layer of a patient and the region of cartilaginous tissue is determined in the first tomographic image. At a later second point in time a second tomographic image is acquired of the layer of the patient and the region of the cartilaginous tissue is determined in the second tomographic image. The tomographic image is generated from the first tomographic image and the second tomographic image, in which every pixel of the tomographic image is assigned a difference value between a corresponding pixel of the first tomographic image and a corresponding pixel of the second tomographic image. The validation number is determined by adding all the pixels in the region of the cartilaginous tissue in the tomographic image.

  • Patent number: 9619849
Abstract: A system and method integrating healthcare delivery to patients using data bridges that connect healthcare providers, patients, patient medical education, and patient monitoring devices is disclosed. The system incorporates a mobile user interface device (MUD) allowing user inputs or detected events from a variety of medical instrumentation devices (MID) to be controlled by a healthcare web server computer (HWS) over a computer communication network (CCN). Information retrieved from the MID and transmitted by the MUD to the HWS is then used by a patient healthcare monitor (PHM) process to populate a medical records database (MRD). MRD contents are then matched to patient healthcare plan (PHP) event/time triggers (ETT) that drive information from a provider content database (PCD) to the MUD through the HWS over the CCN. Healthcare provider update/control of the PHP/ETT/PCD allow integration of patient educational materials with patient health status monitoring.

  • Patent number: 9086277
Abstract: A marking system may hold a container from which markers are dispensed to mark the presence or absence of an underground facility in a dig area. The container may identify a marker characteristic regarding the markers in the container. The marking system may receive activation of a trigger, dispense a marker from the container when the trigger is activated, and store the marker characteristic and time data when the trigger is activated. In other embodiments, the marking system may dispense a marker, determine location data and/or time data, and substantially simultaneously trigger the dispensing of the marker and logging of the location data and/or the time data. The location data identifies a geographic location where the marker is dispensed and the time data identifies the time when the marker is dispensed.
