Abstract: A guide vane for turbo-engines has a stationary vane section and a movable vane section with a gap between the two sections. The gap is covered on one side by a flexible band connected along its tape edges to the vane sections. The other side of the gap is covered by an elastic connected to the stationary vane section along one band edge while the other band edge overlaps part of the movable vane section to permit free relative movement between the elastic band (7) and the movable vane section. A plurality of such guide vanes are mounted at the radially outer end of their position adjustment member to an outer housing ring while the radially inner vane end or at least the radially inner end of the movable vane is free. A common position adjustment ring is connected to all adjustment members.

Abstract: A hydraulic system comprised of a pump, a first valve in the inlet to the pump, and a second valve which activates or deactivates a third valve which permits the loading and unloading of the pump discharge. A motor is provided to operate the first valve for opening or closing the pump inlet. This motor also actuates the second valve in concert with the operation of the first valve to open or close a vent port to the third valve which opens or closes the passage from the pump discharge to tank, located away from the pump inlet. This permits unloading the pump discharge during the restriction of the pump inlet and allows the loading of the pump discharge after the opening of the pump inlet. With the pump inlet restricted, the system provides a low restrictive passage for circulating the prescribed small volume of flow used to lubricate and cool the pump.
Abstract: A manifold (20) includes a plurality of separate, identical flow channels (28) separated by flow dividers (46). The flow dividers (46) include a thickened boss section (54) for receiving a mounting bolt (50), and are skewed adjacent the manifold outlet for forming a plurality of tangentially directed nozzles (18).
Abstract: There are disclosed a blade for use as part of an axial flow fan and a method of forming such a blade wherein a large concentration of silica particles are molded into the leading edge of a hollow, one-piece molded body which includes a core of reinforced, thermosetting resin having relatively low abrasion resistance.
