Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transmitting a signal between terminals, and an apparatus for the same. Specifically, a first terminal performs resource sensing within a resource search section including a plurality of resource units. The first terminal selects a specific resource unit for transmitting the signal on the basis of the result of the resource sensing, and transmits the signal via the specific resource unit by means of a first reference signal sequence. The specific resource unit is a resource occupied by a second terminal, and the first reference signal sequence may be determined on the basis of a second reference signal sequence of the second terminal.

  • Patent number: 10848227
Abstract: Switching between and/or combining various multi-transceiver wireless communication techniques based on a determined characteristic of a network or a wireless link is described herein. As an example, a characteristic such as signal to noise ratio (SNR), multi-path scattering, available bandwidth, or the like, can be determined. The characteristic can then be compared with suitable thresholds for various multi-transceiver communication techniques, such as MIMO, multi-channel concatenation, channel diversity, and so on. Based on a comparison of the characteristic and the thresholds, a suitable multi-transceiver technique can be selected and implemented for the wireless link. Accordingly, a network can provide increased data rates and/or channel quality from a multi-transceiver technique that is most suited to prevailing conditions of the wireless network/link.

  • Patent number: 10764866
Abstract: The invention relates to the allocation of radio resources by a transmitting user equipment to perform a plurality of direct SL transmissions to one or more receiving user equipments. The allocation of radio resources within a SC period is restricted, for the SC period, by a maximum number of SL processes with which a transmitting user equipment is configured. A plurality of SL grants is acquired. Among the acquired SL grants a number of those SL grants is selected that have most recently been acquired before the start of the subsequent SC period. A plurality of SL processes is associated such that each of the plurality of SL process is associated with a different one of the selected number of SL grants. For each of the plurality of the SL processes, the radio resources are allocated. Each of the plurality of SL transmissions comprises at least one SCI transmission and at least one data transmission over the SL interface.

  • Patent number: 10667111
Abstract: In embodiments of virtual addressing for mesh networks, a node in a mesh network publishes packets and/or subscribes to packets using a virtual address that is derived from a unique identifier. The unique identifier has a larger address space than the destination address field of the packet. The unique identifier and an application key are hashed to elide the unique identifier from the destination address that is transmitted in the packet over the mesh network. A node receiving the packet can determine that the address is a virtual address, and disambiguate the destination address to determine that the virtual address corresponds to a unique identifier known to the receiving node.

  • Patent number: 10595234
Abstract: The present invention addresses apparatuses, methods and computer program product for enabling support of legacy user equipment and legacy network elements in small cell system for LTE and beyond systems. Each small cell uses a unique pair of Physical Cell Identifier and E-UTRAN Cell Global Identifier {PCI, ECGI} in the small cell system. In a handover preparation phase, when an enhanced eNB initiates the handover request procedure, the source eNB includes the pair of {PCI, ECGI} in the handover request message. Upon the reception of the {PCI, ECGI} from the handover request message, the associated eNB determines the target small cell based on the received pair of {PCI, ECGI}.

  • Patent number: 10555342
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a radio node (110, 115) operating in multiple modes for power detection includes operating in a first mode. While operating in the first mode power levels of transmissions on a channel are compared to a first threshold to determine whether the channel is free. While operating the radio node (110, 115) in the first mode, power levels within a specified range are detected during a first time period. In response to detecting the power levels within the specified range during the first time period, the radio node (110, 115) is switched to a second mode that is a duty-cycle mode. While operating the radio node (110, 115) in the second mode, the power levels of the transmissions on the channel are compared to a second threshold during a first portion of a duty cycle and to a third threshold during a second portion of the duty cycle to determine whether the channel is free. The third threshold is different from the second threshold.
