  • Patent number: 5807122
Abstract: An adapter (1, FIG. 1) is provided for the connection of an optoelectronic component such as an LED (light emitting diode) (2) to a circuit board (8) that lies in a case (34), wherein the adaptor positions the LED close to a window (32) in the top wall (30) of the case. The adapter has a pair of passages (4, 5) for holding conductors (11, 12) that connect terminals of the LED to SMD (surface mount device) contacts (6) that connect to the circuit board. The adapter holds the LED high enough above the circuit board, for the upper face (36) of the LED to lie in or close to the level of the window, so light from the LED can be readily seen from outside the case.

  • Patent number: 5807116
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipolar electrical jack (multipolar jack) which uses a multipolar electrical plug (multipolar plug) as a counter electrical connector. According to the present invention, even when a jack is of a multipolar type, the length of the jack can be shortened. The multipolar jack of the present invention is useful as a multipolar electrical connector to be used where space for insertion and ejection of the jack is required to be as small as possible, such as the case of an audio apparatus and a car navigation apparatus mounted on an automobile. In the multipolar jack of the present invention, a body is provided with an annular recess and a center recess positioned at the center of the annular recess of the body. Three poles are separately disposed on the annular recess of the body and the center recess, respectively. The poles are disposed in a distributed manner on the inner and outer peripheral faces of the annular recess of the body.

  • Patent number: 5800190
Abstract: A relay device includes a first rotor having an inner cylinder, a second rotor having an outer cylinder, a flexible flat cable wound spirally in an annular space defined between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder and a C-shaped moving member arranged so as to move along the annular space. The C-shaped moving member consists of an inner horizontal rib, an outer horizontal rib, an upper vertical rib and a lower vertical rib. When the flexible flat cable is rewound from the inner cylinder by the relative rotation between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder, the contact area of the moving member with the cable can be reduced because the inner horizontal rib is in the form of a plate material projecting from the inner peripheral face of the moving member horizontally. Thus, it is possible to reduce the frictional force of the moving member on the cable and to prevent the cable from buckling.

  • Patent number: 5795194
Abstract: An electrical plug has a multiplicity of contact terminals disposed on a wafer that is received within a housing. The wafer or substratum is grooved or channeled between each contact terminal. In this manner, the contacting surface of each terminal is essentially raised from the surface of the substratum. Generally, the groove takes the form of a modified V shape, however, other groove configurations may be utilized. By lowering the substratum surface during formation of the wafer, the contact surface of each terminal becomes elevated from the substratum surface, while remaining at the same height relative to each other. Any misregistration or misalignment of the terminals of the receptacle caused by tilting, twisting or otherwise that would cause an open circuit or poor contact is alleviated by the channel. The misaligned receptacle terminal is allowed to tilt and be received into the channel rather than contacting the substratum surface to be held away from contact.

  • Patent number: 5788536
Abstract: A connector in which the connecting terminal is prevented from shifting or playing, and the male and female terminals are positively engaged with each other. The connector comprises a plurality of elongated protrusions 20 formed on the walls of a terminal accommodating chamber 12 in such a manner that they extend in the direction of insertion of a female terminal 13. The female terminal includes a wire clamping section 18 comprising a conductor clamping portion 28 and a cover clamping portion 29. A locking protrusion 21 formed on the bottom of the cover clamping portion 29 is engaged with a locking groove 22 formed in the connector housing 11. Furthermore, the height of the cover clamping portion 29 is made substantially equal to the terminal accommodating chamber 12. Hence, both the position of the front end portion of the female terminal 13 and the position of the wire clamping section 18, which is the rear end portion of the terminal, are positively regulated.

  • Patent number: 5772464
Abstract: The invention concerns a straight contact and branch contact for the connector part of a plug connector or for a clamp for connecting several electrical conductors. It is proposed to stamp out the contact in one piece from a flat metal strip and to shape it into a U-shaped configuration in such a way that the ends of the contact, on one side, form a flat connector pin and, on the other side, form a cutting-clamp terminal. Leaf springs are freely s from the end pieces of the contact that are bent out from a back part thereof, and these springs are each directed with their free clamp edge toward the back piece, and form there a plug-in terminal.
