  • Patent number: 11967014
Abstract: A 3D conversation system can facilitate 3D conversations in an augmented reality environment, allowing conversation participants to appear as if they are face-to-face. The 3D conversation system can accomplish this with a pipeline of data processing stages, which can include calibrate, capture, tag and filter, compress, decompress, reconstruct, render, and display stages. Generally, the pipeline can capture images of the sending user, create intermediate representations, transform the representations to convert from the orientation the images were taken from to a viewpoint of the receiving user, and output images of the sending user, from the viewpoint of the receiving user, in synchronization with audio captured from the sending user. Such a 3D conversation can take place between two or more sender/receiving systems and, in some implementations can be mediated by one or more server systems. In various configurations, stages of the pipeline can be customized based on a conversation context.

  • Patent number: 11875361
Abstract: A real-time digital device user interaction control system generates user interactions in substantial real-time in accordance with user-specified attribute settings. A server, in operable communication with an electronic device experience management subsystem, generates a unified visitor structured data file comprising configured privacy setting attributes and pre-pushes the unified visitor structured data to the electronic device experience management subsystem. The electronic device experience management subsystem is then able to generate digital experiences in accordance with the configured attributes in substantial real-time without adverse network latency effects by not having to query the server. The structured data file may also be pushed to sensors to control the data capture thereof.

  • Patent number: 11869150
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing an avatar personalized for a specific person based on known data from a relatively large population of individuals and a relatively small data sample of the specific person. Auto-encoder neural networks are used in a novel manner to capture latent-variable representations of facial models. Once such models are developed, a very limited data sample of a specific person may be used in combination with convolutional-neural-networks or statistical filters, and driven by audio/visual input during real-time operations, to generate a realistic avatar of the specific individual's face. In some embodiments, conditional variables may be encoded (e.g. gender, age, body-mass-index, ethnicity, emotional state). In other embodiments, different portions of a face may be modeled separately and combined at run-time (e.g., face, tongue and lips). Models in accordance with this disclosure may be used to generate resolution independent output.

  • Patent number: 11861804
Abstract: Methods and systems for selectively smoothing an input surface mesh based on identified staircase artifacts are disclosed. Staircase artifacts may be generated along any one of a surface mesh's coordinate vectors. Vertices in the surface mesh associated with the staircase artifact are identified by comparing normalized angles between normal vectors of a plurality of faces adjacent to a vertex and a reference vector. Multiple reference vectors are used to identify additional artifact vertices. Weighted values may be generated for each vertex of the surface mesh based on the vertex's proximity to an identified artifact vertex. Vertices of a surface mesh may be subjected to a modified smoothing algorithm using the weighted values. The modified smoothing algorithm removes staircase artifacts while better preserving model volume and small model features.

  • Patent number: 11856479
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for receiving information that is wirelessly transmitted to a mobile computing system by wireless devices that are proximal to a route being travelled by the mobile computing system, and presenting at least a portion of the received information through a display of the mobile computing system. The information can be displayed according to a computing experience that is determined for a user of the mobile computing system (e.g., user-selected, inferred based on a stored schedule of the user, and so forth). Different sets of location-based information can be transmitted to the mobile computing system from different wireless devices that the mobile computing system comes into proximity with while traveling along a route. In some instances, the information can be locally stored on the wireless device(s) to reduce latency.
