  • Patent number: 10201247
Abstract: A grill includes a cooking surface. The cooking surface includes at least one grate. The grate has internal heating elements operable to raise the temperature of the great above the temperature achievable via a heat source of the grill. The grate may be referred to as a searing station. In one embodiment, the grill is a wood pellet grill, the heat source is burning wood pellets in a burnpot of the grill, and the heating elements are resistive heating elements fully contained within slats of the grate. A searing station is especially suited for wood pellet grills which operate at lower temperatures than conventional gas or charcoal grills because it combines the slow cooking characteristics of a pellet grill with the quick searing capabilities of an infrared gas grill. The searing station may, however, be used in any type of grill.

  • Patent number: 10183351
Abstract: An arc welding system includes a welding torch, an electrode, and a power supply having a switching-type power converter connected to the torch. A parallel state-based controller is connected to the power converter and provides a waveform control signal thereto for controlling its operations. The controller generates a motion control signal for controlling movements of the electrode and/or the torch. A sensor senses welding voltage or welding current. A memory stores a welding state table comprising sequential control states, and stores a motion control system state table comprising further sequential control states. The welding waveform is defined in the welding state table. The controller controls the operations of the power converter through the waveform control signal according to the welding state table, simultaneously adjusting the motion control signal according to the motion control system state table. The controller transitions between control states according to the signal received from the sensor.

  • Patent number: 10080459
Abstract: A beverage dispensing system that can dispense both cold and hot drinks from either cold drink capsules or hot drink capsules. The cold or hot drink capsule is inserted into the system, and the lid is manually closed. If a cold drink capsule has been inserted, a mechanism cracks the capsule along a predetermined seam, injects cold mixing fluid into the capsule, and then rotates the capsule to pour the mixed contents into a cup. As the contents are poured, additional cold fluid can be added to the cup. If a hot drink capsule has been inserted, closing the lid pushed it down on a bottom needle that punctures it. An injection needle rotates and punctures the top. Hot fluid is injected under pressure forcing a brewed or mixed drink out the bottom into a cup.
