Abstract: Hard gelatin capsules contain: (a) a fat-soluble nutrient, such as a fat-soluble vitamin (A, D, E or K) or an unsaturated fatty acid glyceride; (b) a nonionic surfactant, such as a polyoxyethylated (optionally hydrogenated) castor oil, and/or a polyethylene glycol; (c) a gelatin softening agent such as glycerol, propylene glycol or, preferably, glyceryl mono-oleate; and optionally (d) water. The problems of embrittlement conventionally encountered with hard gelatin capsules containing fat-soluble nutrients are reduced or avoided.
Abstract: A misuse-resistive dosage form for the transdermal delivery of opioid comprises, in combination, 1) one or more opioid permeable to the skin, 2) delivery means permeable to said opioid, 3) one or more antagonist for said opioid releasable upon ingestion or solvent immersion, and 4) impermeable barrier means separating said opioid and said antagonist.
Abstract: Method of, and dosage unit for, inhibiting angiogenesis in an aminal having an intestinal wall by administering to the animal, orally or anally, an effective amount of shark cartilage, particularly finely divided shark cartilage in solid dosage form such as a tablet, capsule, suppository, for passing through the intestinal wall of the animal as a suspension.
