Abstract: There is provided a method, a data processing system and a computer program product for maintaining service reliability in a data center. A probability of breach of a resource in the data center is determined. A breach of a resource may be the failure of the resource, the unavailability of a resource, the underperformance of a resource, or other problems with the resource. If the probability of breach exceeds a predetermined value, then additional resources are made available to the data center in order to prevent a breach of the resource from affecting the performance of the data center.

Abstract: The present invention provides a device and a method enabling a client connected to an external network to efficiently obtain information about servers connected to an internal network. An information processing device serving as an application gateway connected at an interface between the external network and the internal network performs a server information obtaining process about connected servers through the internal network in response to a request for obtaining information about the servers connected to the internal network transmitted from the client connected to the external network, generates a device list based on the obtained server information, and transmits the device list to the client through the external network. With this configuration, the client connected to the external network can efficiently obtain information about the servers connected to the internal network.

Abstract: A memory device includes a plurality of memory cells each including a recordable layer between two metal layers, the recordable layer including a first sub-cell and a second sub-cell. Each memory cell is constructed and designed to change from an as-deposited state to an initialized state upon application of an initialization signal, from the initialized state to a first inscribed state upon application of a first write signal, and from the initialized state to a second inscribed state upon application of a second write signal. The memory cell has a resistor-like current-voltage (I-V) characteristic when in the as-deposited state, a diode-like I-V characteristic when in the initialized state, and resistor-like I-V characteristics when in the first and second inscribed states for voltages within a predetermined range.

Abstract: In a computerized system, a sending computer system and recipient computer system exchange an interchange format message in a resource-efficient manner. For example, a transformation writer at the sending computer system selects and transforms only one or few of a plurality of units of the message at the time. The transformed message units are then streamed to the recipient computer system in accordance with a relevant transformation standard, such as the canonicalization standard in the case of XML messages. A transformation reader at the recipient computer system transforms the messages using a buffer big enough for received message units, and passes the transformed units to a file. Thus, the transformation writer acts as a stream writer to pass a message, and the transformation reader acts as a stream reader at the recipient computer system.

Abstract: In a shared workspace, a session for managing connection of conference systems, a file used in a conference and created as a record of the conference, reference information to a resource relevant to the conference, and history information of file access made by conference participants are managed. The conference participant can operate a GUI, thereby connecting to the conference system without being aware of the call address of each conference system and easily accessing information in the files relevant to the conference and the like from the conference system.
Abstract: Methods and systems for link-level alignment between processing modules or cards and distributed processing system are disclosed. According to one method, cards that support link level communications parameter negotiation exchange link status signal units (LSSUs) to negotiate a common set of link level communications. For link level communications between a card that supports parameter negotiation and a card that does not support link level communications parameter negotiation, LSSUs are exchanged, and the cards establish link level communications using a default set of parameter values.
Abstract: Test circuitry for determining whether a memory can operate at a lower operating voltage. The test circuitry includes a sense circuit having a delayed sensing characteristic as compared to other sense amplifier circuits of the memory. With this circuitry, the test circuitry can determine if the sense circuit can provide valid data under more severe sensing conditions. In one example, the sense circuit includes a delay circuit in the sense enable signal path. If sense circuit can provide data at more server operating conditions, then the memory operating voltage can be lowered.

Abstract: FRAM includes a tunable gain amp serving as a local sense amp, wherein the tunable gain amp is connected to a local bit line for reading a memory cell including a pass transistor and a ferroelectric capacitor, and gain is adjusted by setting a local amp voltage for reading the memory cell more effectively with optimized gain. And a global sense amp is connected to the local sense amp for receiving a read output. When reading data, a voltage difference in the local bit line is converted to a time difference by the sense amps for differentiating high data and low data. For example, high data is quickly transferred to an output latch circuit through the sense amps with high gain, but low data is rejected by a locking signal based on high data as a reference signal. Additionally, alternative circuits and memory cell structures for implementing the memory are described.
Abstract: A method of collecting data in connection with the retrieval of a media file includes the steps of transmitting to a media device an embedded media player page for playing the media file and transmitting a media file identification message to a log server. The media file identification message identifies the media file. The log server records that the media file has been selected for play back by a user in a log associated with the media file.
Abstract: A method, system, computer program product, and computer program storage device for dynamically adjusting a maximum limit of concurrent service requests directed to a shared storage resource that can be issued by a plurality of host devices is disclosed. The method, system, computer program product, and computer program storage device operate based on a rotating turn, in which a host device has a chance to be able to increase its currently available maximum number of concurrent service requests.

Abstract: One Embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for accessing web services. In this regard, one embodiment of such a method, among others, can be broadly summarized by the following steps: receiving a request for a web service, the request being in an instant messaging format; converting the request into a native format utilized by the web service; and relaying the request in the native format to the web service. Other methods and devices are also provided.
Abstract: A management device selects a storage device having a plenty of unallocated storage regions, selects a target using a port having a small allocation quantity from the storage device targets, and allocates the target, an initiator, and a storage region. When the number of targets and the allocated storage regions prepared by the storage device is within a predetermined number, the storage device manages the storage device as an allocation candidate. When the predetermined number is exceeded, the exceeding one is excluded from the allocation candidate. When the number of storage devices excluded from the allocation candidate has reached a certain number, the management device manages a new storage device and a new storage region as an allocation candidate.
Abstract: A geographic-based communications service system has a mobile unit for transmitting/receiving information, and access points connected to a network. The access points are arranged in a known geographic locations and transmit and receive information from the mobile unit. When one of the access points detects the presence of the mobile unit, it sends a signal to the network indicating the location of the mobile unit and the information requested by the mobile unit. Based on the signal received from the access point, the network communicates with information providers connected to the network and provides data to the mobile unit through the access point corresponding to the location of the mobile unit.
Abstract: A system (706, 714) is provided for a network signaling bypass around a cryptographic device (1008, 1108). The system is comprised of an interface (1002, 1102) configured to receive a plurality of packets and communicate the packets that are of a non-GIST type to a non-GIST bypass circuit (1004-1, 1004-2) and the packets that are of a GIST type to a GIST bypass circuit (1006-1, 1006-2).
