Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for constructing a combined reference picture list, List C, based on List 0 and List 1, used for uni-directional prediction of video blocks in any direction. The techniques include coding one or more syntax elements defined to indicate construction information for List C, and performing reference picture list construction for List C from List 0 and List 1 based on the syntax elements. The one or more syntax elements may indicate that List C is used for uni-directional prediction, and may also indicate a number of reference pictures identified in List C and a reference index of a reference picture for each entry in List C. Each coded video block of a B slice may have an associated syntax element, i.e., inter_pred_idc, to indicate whether the video block is bi-predicted from List 0 and List 1 (Bi) or uni-directional predicted from List C (Pred_LC).

Abstract: A computer-implemented system processes secure electronic documents from one or more content providers in accordance with subscriber instructions has a processor and modules operative within the processor. A monitoring module obtains a provider GUID, a subscriber GUID, and a transaction ID from public metadata associated with a transaction received from a particular content provider. A determination module determines any designees of the subscriber and contact information one or more of the subscriber and any designees. A transaction module distributes a transaction addressed to at least one of the subscriber and any designees. Each distributed transaction includes data that is used for management, tracking, and alerting. Also described is a station for constructing transactions for distribution to subscribers through such a system, and management of local-advertising to users of such a system. An end-to-end system and method are described.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide the ability to accurately match a particular computing device within a networked computing environment with an identity of that computing device. According to one aspect, a method for identifying a client computing device in a networked computing environment is provided. The method receives a discovery data record that includes a hardware identification and a logical identification, and in response, queries a plurality of client records for a matching client record. If a matching client record is identified by the query it is compared with the received discovery data record to identify the client computing device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for restoring networks to normal behavior are disclosed. For example, in various embodiments an apparatus for addressing device abnormalities in a network may include node monitoring circuitry configured to monitor device abnormalities in the network, and ranking circuitry that may receive information from the node monitoring device and, upon receiving information from the monitoring circuitry that multiple devices in the network are compromised, may provide ranking information as to which of the multiple compromised devices in the network is to be attended to first.

Abstract: A method of sharing keys among a plurality of conditional access (CA) vendors having differing CA systems used at a distribution headend involves receiving a CA Value contribution from each of the plurality of CA vendors at the headend; hashing the CA Values from each of the plurality of CA vendors together using a hashing function to produce an output control word; and at an encrypter at the headend, using the output control word as a content key, wherein the content key is used as an encryption key to encrypt content provided to a plurality of receivers that decrypt the content using any of the conditional access systems. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

Abstract: A data communication apparatus that reduces erroneous transmission, together with allowing an operator to confirm destinations registered as data transmission destinations. To accomplish this, the data communication apparatus includes a destination registering unit adapted to register at least one or more destinations, a data acquisition unit adapted to acquire data to transmit to the registered destinations, a destination list print unit adapted to print a destination list showing the registered destinations to allow an operator to confirm the registered destinations, an operation acquisition unit adapted to acquire, via an operation unit, a first operation operated by the operator if the destinations shown on the destination list are confirmed by the operator, and a transmission unit adapted to transmit, if the first operation is acquired, the acquired data to the destinations shown on the destination list.
