  • Patent number: 9924409
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a group communication method, system, group server, and group member device. A group server receives notification messages sent by a group member device, aggregates, according to an address of a subscription device, the notification messages destined for the same subscription device, and sends a notification message obtained after aggregation to the subscription device. By aggregating multiple messages sent by the group member device to the subscription device, messages exchanged between the group member device and the subscription device are reduced, thereby reducing communication traffic between the group member device and the subscription device.

  • Patent number: 9820178
Abstract: A method is provided in one example and includes receiving a current bandwidth characteristic for a link, where the current bandwidth characteristic is determined under fading conditions associated with signal propagation on the link. The method can also include calculating a new cost for the link that is different from a nominal cost associated with a nominal bandwidth of the link without the fading conditions. The method could also include routing at least a portion of a plurality of flows that are to traverse the link away from the link based, at least in part, on the new cost. Another example method includes receiving the current bandwidth characteristic for the link, comparing the current bandwidth characteristic with a preconfigured low watermark corresponding to a class-specific MTR topology associated with a class of traffic traversing the link, and removing the link from the MTR topology based on the current bandwidth characteristic.

  • Patent number: 9812134
Abstract: A breakdown of voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) calls by adaptive multi-rate (AMR) speech coding mode may be determined by accessing a plurality of call detail records (CDRs) containing information associated with a plurality of corresponding communication sessions established over a mobile telephony network, and filtering the plurality of CDRs to obtain a subset of CDRs that are associated with communication sessions that used VoLTE services. A data structure containing correlations between AMR speech coding modes and bandwidth values may be referenced in order to classify the CDRs of the subset of CDRs into groups of different AMR speech coding modes. In some embodiments, a capacity planning metric or a resource allocation metric may be recommended based at least in part on numbers of the CDRs in the subset of CDRs within each of the groups of the different AMR speech coding modes.

  • Patent number: 9780900
Abstract: UE that are able to cancel interference from CRS, a PDSCH, a PDCCH, or a PCFICH may do so without explicitly signaling the capability to the serving eNB. The serving eNB may transmit to the UE a plurality of cell identifiers to indicate from which cells interference should be canceled. The UE receives CRS, PDSCH, PDCCH, or PCFICH from the serving eNB and cancels CRS, PDSCH, PDCCH, or PCFICH interference, respectively from the signal received from the eNB. The UE cancels the interference from the cells that correspond to the cell identifiers. The UE may then transmit a report to the eNB with a quality measurement without the interference.
