Abstract: A mobile terminal including a body and a display module, which is flexible and is capable of receiving a touch input and a method of controlling the mobile terminal are provided. The method includes setting the touch sensitivity of a display module to a first level; if the display module is bent or folded, setting the touch sensitivity of a bent or folded portion of the display module to a second level; and if the display module is unbent or unfolded and thus returns to its original shape, setting the touch sensitivity of the bent or folded portion of the display module back to the first level. Accordingly, it is possible to adaptively adjust the touch sensitivity of the display module according to whether and how the display module is bent or folded.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pointer detection apparatus, including: a conductor pattern including a plurality of first conductors disposed in a first direction and a plurality of second conductors disposed in a second direction; a multi-frequency signal production circuit configured to produce a plurality of signals of different frequencies; a first conductor selection circuit configured to selectively supply the signals of different frequencies to those first conductors, between which N ones of the first conductors are interposed, N being a predetermined integer equal to or greater than 0; a second conductor selection circuit configured to selectively receive detection signals from the second conductors; and a signal detection circuit configured to obtain signals of individual frequencies, corresponding to the signals of different frequencies produced by the multi-frequency signal production circuit, which are representative of coupling states at cross points between the first conductors and the second conductors
Abstract: An active array substrate, a liquid crystal display panel and method for driving the same are provided. The active array substrate includes a plurality of first strip electrodes and second strip electrodes. The sum of one width of the first stripe electrode and one pitch between two adjacent first stripe electrodes is greater than that of one width of the second strip electrode and one pitch between two adjacent second strip electrodes.
Abstract: Tools and techniques for contact grouping and gesture recognition for surface computing are provided. These tools receive, from a finger grouping subsystem, data representing velocity parameters associated with contact points, with the contact points representing physical actions taken by users in interacting with software applications presented on a surface computing system. These tools also identify gestures corresponding to the physical actions by analyzing the velocity parameters, and provide indications of the identified gestures to the software applications.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic device with a touch interface detects one or more user gestures that correspond to instructions to vary the playback speed of a media file that is being played on the device. In response, the device initiates a variable rate scan through the media file, forward or backward. The touch interface can be a touch screen or touch pad.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of driving a liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal panel, and a backlight assembly providing light to the liquid crystal panel by a field sequential driving method, the method includes: displaying an image, at the liquid crystal panel and the backlight assembly, by time-dividing two frames into five sub-frames, wherein when images are displayed in the two frames, images of a first frame and a second frame of the two frames share one blue light.
Abstract: A method and a circuit for controlling a power recovery stage of a plasma display panel including a resonant circuit of at least one inductive element and one capacitive element, wherein the capacitive element is precharged to half a supply voltage of the display panel.
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for reducing visual distortion in near-to-eye (“NTE”) visual display systems that is worn, at least partially, on a viewer's head. The movement rate of the viewer's head is sensed while an image that comprises individual content frames is displayed on the NTE using a vertically based raster scan. A characteristic of the raster scan is varied to mitigate distortion of the content frames due to the viewer's head movement.
Abstract: An interface apparatus and method are provided. The interface apparatus includes a level detecting unit detecting a level of an inputted control signal, a counter unit increasing or decreasing a count value according to the level detected in the level detecting unit, and a driving control unit outputting a driving control information mapped into a count value of the counter unit.
Abstract: A system and method for efficient computation in the course of locating a position on the face of a touch-screen-equipped display device by limiting the amount of computations to weighted vectors within a range substantially less than the entire range of data input from the touch screen sensors.
Abstract: A keyboard type input device used in conjunction with a wristwatch or a portable telephone has multiple key positions provided as character entry keys. Each key corresponds to one key in the selected row of the conventional QWERTY keyboard. A second set of control buttons provide for the selection of which row of a conventional QWERTY keyboard are represented by the character keys in addition to other functions such as case shift, and alpha-numerical control functions. A selected row is shown on a display, as visual feedback. Alternatively the keys are implemented as LCDs with pressure sensors and the characters of the selected row are displayed directly on the corresponding key positions. The keyboard finds particular use in portable devices as it demands less space than traditional keyboards.
