  • Patent number: 7102293
Abstract: A drive transistor is connected, via its drain region, to a power supply line, and, via its source region, to a transparent electrode of an organic EL element. The channel region is formed bent into a substantially L shape. This arrangement is able to simplify the arrangement of a gate electrode by providing the gate electrode so as to run straight over a channel region in parallel to the power source line. Accordingly, the aperture ratio is increased.

  • Patent number: 7084586
Abstract: The present invention relates to a discharge lamp lighting apparatus which can prevent an increase of loss and a rise of temperature in the area where discharge lamp tube voltage is low. The power conversion circuit 1 converts the input power Pin to output the DC power Pd. The discharge lamp driving circuit 5 converts the DC power Pd supplied from the power conversion circuit 1 to output AC voltage Vo and AC current Io. The controller 2 provides constant power control for maintaining the AC power Po provided by the AC voltage Vo and AC current Io to be constant when the AC voltage Vo is higher than the predetermined value V1, and provides power reduction control for reducing AC power Po to the power conversion circuit 1 when the AC voltage Vo is lower than the predetermined value V1.

  • Patent number: 7078870
Abstract: An HID ballast includes a flyback power converter with a simplified topology that permits power factor correction while supplying constant output power to drive an inverter supplying low frequency modulated power to the HID lamp. A switch is coupled in series with a transformer in the power converter to control current through the transformer to provide constant output power. The off time of the switch contributes to controlling the power factor of the ballast circuit. The transformer is operated in critical conduction mode, with an indication of zero current in the transformer used to determine the control for the switch. An output of the flyback power converter provides a feedback signal to obtain constant power output based on switching intervals applied to the switch coupled to the transformer. This simplified topology reduces part counts while providing a robust control that can be flexibly applied to a number of HID lamps.

  • Patent number: 7034472
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for a traveling-wave tube disclosed herein eliminates the need for isolation through a vacuum relay or the like, and is therefore fabricated in small size and at low cost. An oscillator circuit generates an oscillating signal at a frequency optionally selected from a plurality of frequencies. An inverter is applied with the oscillating signal from the oscillator circuit to generate an AC voltage signal at the frequency of the oscillating signal. A transformer transforms the AC voltage signal generated by the inverter disposed on the primary side and supplies the resulting signal to the secondary side. A rectifier circuit, which is disposed on the secondary side, rectifies the AC voltage signal transformed by the transformer for application to the traveling-wave tube. A frequency detector circuit detects the frequency of the AC voltage signal applied from the transformer to the rectifier circuit to generate a device control signal in accordance with the frequency.
