Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for color-editing capable of simply carrying out color-editing spectral values, such as spectral reflectance, spectral transmittance, spectral radiance and spectral radiant intensity. When color-editing a spectral value of spectral image, the spectral color is transformed into a low-dimensional color space easy for the human to handle in an HLS space transforming section and color-editing and color-correction are carried out in the low-dimensional color space in on HLS color-editing section thereby generating a proper spectral value from a transformed low-dimensional color in a spectral-space inverse-transforming section. Also, a spectral color editing section receives a spectral editing instruction signal and transforms a wavelength width of a spectral color peak to a narrow one, thereby improving saturation.

Abstract: In order to compose a plurality of print jobs together to prepare one composed job and provide a desired printed result with no inconvenience to a user, an information processor of the present invention includes a generator for generating print setting information for the composed job, for analyzing the print setting information of a plurality of print jobs and unifying information which can be respectively set only to one print job when a plurality of print jobs are instructed to be composed together so as to obtain one composed job.

Abstract: A mechanism for performing tab paper printing and test printing by simple operation is provided. A printer performs a print process with an image formation position unshifted in the test printing and a print process with the image formation position shifted in the tab paper printing. In case of performing the tab paper printing after the test printing, the printing is performed by using print data already held in the printer or a host computer. It structured to enable to output to a plain paper a print result in which a decoration is added only to a tab position correspondence portion, enable to change its decoration method, and enable easy discrimination of the position. By the above structure, a user can easily correct the position of the content intended to be printed on a tab, and costs necessary for the tab paper used in the test can be reduced.

The image forming apparatus having a plurality of image forming apparatuses performs an image density adjustment control process by carrying out a maximum density control process at a reference image forming speed, and carrying out a density gradation control process at each of the plurality of image forming speeds. Image forming conditions for carrying out the density gradation control process at speeds other than the reference image forming speed are determined by performing operation on image forming conditions determined by the maximum density control process carried out at the reference image forming speed.

Abstract: An imaging device for transmitting a still image file includes an interface unit and a conversion unit. The interface unit receives, from an external device via a connection between the imaging device and the external device, a control command including first data designating a still image file to be transmitted, second data designating a file type, and third data designating a resolution. The conversion unit converts the still image file designated by the first data into a still image file having the resolution designated by the third data if the file type designated by the second data is a predetermined file type. If the file type designated by the second data is not the predetermined file type, the interface unit transmits, to the external device via the connection between the imaging device and the external device, the still image file at its original resolution.

The thus-produced image information is sent to a receiver device 2 by way of a network line 3. When receipt of image information is initiated, the receiver device 2 refers to the header information, thereby determining presence/absence, in the header information, of information indicating that attribute information and image data are stored in a predetermined sequence. When it has been determined that attribute information and image data are arranged in a predetermined sequence, image data included in the received image information are immediately decompressed, and the thus-decompressed image data are output in the form of a record or display.

In a system that includes a computer device, a printer device and a printer driver source, a print job is initiated and a connection with a printer driver source is established. A request is made for information relating to the performance of an automatic update of a dynamic printer driver. A determination is made as to whether or not an update is available. If the update is available, a determination is optionally obtained relating to whether or not the system may proceed in performing the automatic and dynamic update. The profile management server evaluates color differences with respect to color values of profiles under its management and selects a profile for which the color difference is smallest as the similar profile.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for antialiasing images that contain one or more image objects such as colored text, line art, and graphical objects, such that the edge pixels of an antialiased image object will exhibit relatively uniform values, and the appearance of the image object is thereby improved. In one embodiment, an improved antialiasing filter is employed to detect at least one region within the received image. Upon detecting a region containing a background image level that adjoins an image object having pixel values in a range other than a range of limit values, the antialiasing filter sets the pixel values of the edge or border pixels of the image object to substantially the same value. Selection among a logical filter operation and an averaging filter operation may be adaptively employed in the antialiasing filter in order to obtain the desired uniformity of pixel values.

Abstract: A printing control system where poor printing does not occur on a recording medium is provided. A printing system 1 is constituted by connecting a printing apparatus 2 and a personal computer 3 by a connecting cable 4 of 100 base T. Determination is made as to whether disposition of information data to be disposed to an IC card C serving as a recording medium is appropriate based upon disposition position information of the information data to be disposed to the IC card C and inherent attribute information which is set depending on a type of the information data. On the basis of this determination result, printing processing for information data is controlled. Poor printing to the IC card C is prevented beforehand.
