  • Patent number: 4986442
Abstract: The tablet dispenser comprises a drawer, which is adapted to be extracted into engagement with a stop from one end of a tubular protective housing and in its extracted position is adapted to be supplied with a columnlike stack of tablets. The tablets can be advanced as far as to an ejector, which is mounted on that portion of the drawer which protrudes from the protective housing. The ejector is operable to eject each tablet transversely to the longitudinal direction of the stack while the tablet is guided between spaced apart side guides. The side guides consist of clamping holders, which protrude beyond the end of the tubular protective housing and which receive one tablet at a time. Each tablet can be pushed between the clamping holders in that the drawer is raised. The drawer is provided near its bottom end with a foot for supporting the tablet stack. A tilting of the tablets in the housing is prevented by longitidinal guides.

  • Patent number: 4981236
Abstract: An anti-theft apparatus for use in a dispensing machine for newspapers and the like having a coin-operated locking access door. The apparatus includes a cover panel sized to mount within the access opening in the rack. The cover panel restricts access into the dispensing machine is through a T-shaped access opening in the cover panel. Newspapers and the like stacked within the dispensing machine may be grasped through the vertical slot in the T-shaped access opening and raised for removal through the horizontal slot in the opening along the axis of the horizontal slot. A pivoting gauge gate mounted to the cover panel above the T-shaped access opening restricts the thickness of newspapers and the like which may be removed through the hozizontal slot. The gauge gate pivots between an open position wherein newspapers and the like can be removed through the horizontal slot and a closed position wherein access through the horizontal slot is substantially restricted.

  • Patent number: 4972976
Abstract: A dispensing unit is adapted to be attached over a dispensing spout or neck of a bottle containing a liquid, such as water, therein. The dispensing unit includes a shroud having an extension adapted to be inserted into a receptacle defined on a standard dispenser stand. A cylindrical passage is defined through the shroud and is sized to receive the spout of the bottle therein. In one embodiment of the invention, a valve member functions to close communications of water from the spout, through the passage and into the receptacle of the dispenser stand when the bottle is inverted and the spout and the extension of the shroud are initially placed within the receptacle. When the bottle is lowered the shroud engages the dispenser to communicate water from the bottle into the receptacle of the dispenser for consumption purposes.

  • Patent number: 4969582
Abstract: To provide an apparatus for feeding an elongated fastener to a fastening tool, in which the fasteners are fed individually through a first passage and are forced into a holder by a plunger guided in a second additional passage and in which comparatively short fasteners can be fed without jamming or other difficulty in an orderly way, the first passage extending through the apparatus is substantially linear until at the holder positioned coaxial to it, the second passage opens at an acute angle to the first passage and the plunger is made from a flexible material so that the plunger is positionable in an end position outside the first passage and also in a forwardly moved fastener feed position which corresponds to another end position partially in the second and partially in the first passage.

  • Patent number: 4953759
Abstract: A metering valve assembly for dispensing measured quantities of an aerosol from a pressurized container comprises a housing constructed for sealed attachment to a pressurized container and having therein a partition wall of resilient material enclosing a metering chamber. An operating member is supported in the housing for movement between charging and dispensing petitions. In the charging position of the operating member, a charging connection is established between the interior of the pressurized container and the interior of the metering chamber to fill the chamber with a pressurized charge. In the dispensing position of the operating member, the metering chamber is shut off from the interior of the container and connected to a dispensing outlet, whereupon the pressure within the container will collapse the resilient partition wall and thereby force the contents of the metering chamber to the dispensing outlet.

  • Patent number: 4934932
Abstract: A unitary dispenser for elastomeric orthodontic devices such as ligatures and teeth separators has a circular carrier band that carries a series of the devices. A central, flat web is connected to the inner periphery of the band and extends across the middle of the dispenser to provide a centrally disposed gripping section. The web is preferably thinner than the carrier band and thus facilitates one-handed manipulation of the dispenser without visual observation. In use, the dispenser is rotated about a central axis when the web is gripped between a thumb and forefinger in order to bring each of the O-rings into a convenient position for detachment from the carrier band.
