  • Patent number: 11396457
Abstract: A process of dissolving into to-be-treated water a peroxodisulfate and metal ions other than ions of alkali metals is performed by pouring equipment. An ultraviolet irradiation apparatus performs a process of treating the to-be-treated water, having the peroxodisulfate and the metal ions other than ions of alkali metals dissolved therein, with ultraviolet rays. By performing UV treatment on the to-be-treated water having the peroxodisulfate and metal ions dissolved therein, the inventive method and system achieve improved TOC decomposing performance and thus can particularly decompose a urea component in an efficient manner. Further, the to-be-treated water may be treated with an ion-exchange resin at a subsequent stage in such a manner that organic acids contained in the to-be-treated water having been subjected to the UV treatment are adsorbed to the ion exchange-resin, with the advantageous result that the concentration of TOC present in the to-be-treated water can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 11389806
Abstract: Provided is a centrifugal field-flow fractionation device in which a liquid sample is less likely to leak from a channel and attachment and detachment work of a channel member is facilitated. By integrally forming an outer peripheral surface 162 and an inner peripheral surface 163 of a channel member 16, the channel member 16 is configured as one hollow member having a channel 161 formed inside. Thus, pressure resistance performance of the channel member 16 is improved, formation of a gap in the channel 161 can be prevented, and deterioration in sealing performance due to secular change is not generated. Accordingly, a liquid sample is less likely to leak from the channel 161. Further, since the channel member 16 can be handled as one member, attachment and detachment work of the channel member 16 is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 11384000
Abstract: An adaptive electrokinetic dewatering system for dewatering slurry and soil deposits, including tailings deposits and a control system therefor. The control system automatically determines an optimal applied power specification, including sets of power parameters to be applied to the deposit being dewatered and when to apply each set of power parameters during the electrokinetic dewatering process. Furthermore, the control system automatically adjusts the applied power specification throughout the course of the dewatering process to account for the changing properties of the deposit. The control system determines the applied power specifications and adjustments to be made to them by simulating the electrokinetic dewatering process using a simulator which incorporates the latest measurements of the electrical, physical and chemical properties of the deposit being dewatered.
