Abstract: Improved urease inhibitors comprise one or more polymers containing alkenylphenyl sulfonate repeat units, which may be applied to or mixed with a variety of urea-containing fertilizers in order to substantially prevent urea decomposition when applied to soil. The inhibitors may be in the form of homopolymers such as polystyrene sulfonate, or as copolymers containing alkenylphenyl sulfonate and other, different repeat units. The inhibitor polymers may be in free acid, partial salt, or complete salt forms, and are water soluble.
Abstract: A process and apparatus is disclosed for utilizing African American hair removed from a person's scalp as a fertilizing agent with superior results in enhancing the growth of plants and, specifically, for speeding the photosynthesis process. Unprocessed hair removed from the scalp of African American people appears dead and dry but, in fact, includes moisture near the base, fiber, and melanin capable of holding the water for slow release later. Collected hair may be deposited into a specialized cleaning assembly for cleansing, infusion with fertilizer, and agitated for needle felting into a mat, balls, or powder for application to the roots of a plant for slow release of water and fertilizer held in the hair so that the plant receives melanin protein.

Abstract: A granular cohered MOP fertilizer having one or more micronutrients, and one or more binding ingredients. The fertilizer is prepared by compacting MOP feed material with a source of zinc and one or more optional binders to form a cohered MOP composition. The cohered MOP composition is then further processed, such as by crushing and sizing, to form a cohered granular MOP product containing a source of zinc. The process yields a fertilizer product containing micronutrients with superior elemental and granule size distribution without compromising handling or storage qualities.
