  • Patent number: 4837957
Abstract: A numerical display especially for use as a down marker in football games. The numbers which are displayed are painted on sets of slats which slide up and down by operation of finger levers connected to the slats by a special linkage. The slats slide behind other slats in a concealed position and are visible in an exposed position through transparent windows of a padded housing which encloses the operating components. A frictional detent retains the levers in place to prevent inadvertent slipping of the number which is displayed.

  • Patent number: 4817318
Abstract: A demountable road sign intended primarily for transient utilization includes a collapsible ground engaging support, a pivoted pantograph-type frame and a rolled, self-storing sign. The support preferably includes an elongate rod or similar structure which may be maintained in a vertical orientation by a plurality of attached legs. The legs are movable from a stored position generally adjacent the elongate rod to a deployed position in which they extend uniformly and obliquely away from the rod and engage the ground. Suitable structures for receiving the elongate rod support and securing the frame thereto form a portion of the frame. The frame includes a pair of preferably equal length arms pivotally interconnected at their mid points and a sign receiving device disposed on one end of each arm. • Patent number: 4803796
Abstract: The invention has reference to an animating mechanism for appendages of a toy figure where different appendages are given different motions. When applied to a winged figure, by way of example, the wings are given an up and down flap-like motion and the arm at the same time is swung laterally back and forth. For power an electric motor drives a rotating eccentric cam wheel. An eccentrically located pivot pin on the wheel has an articulated connection to the wings. At the same time a cam riding around an eccentric cam track on the same wheel causes a vertical rod to rotate, first in one direction and then in the opposite direction, so that the arm attached to the rod swings back and forth in a sidewise direction.
