  • Patent number: 9959549
Abstract: Mental state data is gathered from a plurality of people and analyzed in order to determine mental state information. Metrics are generated based on the mental state information gathered as the people view media presentations. Norms, defined as the quantitative measures of the mental states of a plurality of people as they view the media presentation, are determined based on the mental state information metrics. The norms can be determined based on various viewer criteria including country of residence, demographic group, or device type on which the media presentation is viewed. Responses to new media are then compared against norms to determine the effectiveness of the new media presentations.

  • Patent number: 9928587
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided the autocentering, autofocusing, acquiring, decoding, aligning, analyzing and exchanging among various parties, images, where the images are of arrays of signals associated with ligand-receptor interactions, and more particularly, ligand-receptor interactions where a multitude of receptors are associated with microparticles or microbeads. The beads are encoded to indicate the identity of the receptor attached, and therefore, an assay image and decoding image are aligned to effect the decoding. The images or data extracted from such images can be exchanged between de-centralized assay locations and a centralized location where the data are analyzed to indicate assay results. Access to data can be restricted to authorized parties in possession of certain encoding information, so as to preserve confidentiality.

  • Patent number: 9892306
Abstract: A device and method for direct optical recording of live skin areas, particularly of fingerprints or handprints, is disclosed. A novel possibility for direct optical recording of human skin prints with forensic quality where interference through ambient light is excluded is achieved in that, from a skin area to be recorded, image data of a calibration image generated under homogeneous illumination from an areal source and ambient light that may be present are read out from the sensor array, an adapted illumination pattern is calculated by means of the stored calibration image such that, through application of the adapted illumination pattern, a two-dimensionally structured illumination pattern is generated to minimize the influence of the ambient light and to homogenize the illumination at least of the deposited skin print, wherein an illumination array is controlled in individual light-emitting elements or in groups of light-emitting elements with the calculated illumination pattern.

  • Patent number: 9842278
Abstract: A method and an image analysis system including an orientation correction processor (OCP), a spatial sensor, and an analytics unit for detecting a target object from an image and validating the detection of the target object are provided. The OCP receives and processes image data from a series of image frames captured by an image sensor and spatial data from the spatial sensor. The OCP generates orientation data using the image data, the spatial data, timestamp data, and lens data of the image sensor. The OCP generates resultant image data by associating the generated orientation data with the received and processed image data simultaneously for each image frame. The analytics unit, in communication with the OCP, processes and analyzes the generated resultant image data with reference to an analytic dataset library to detect the target object from the image and validate the detection of the target object.
