For example, methods may include generating a graph including vertices and edges, wherein at least one of the vertices is associated with an event type from a set of event types and wherein at least one of the edges is associated with a weight; removing, based on an associated weight and a first threshold, one or more edges from the graph; determining, after removing the one or more edges from the graph, whether the graph is chordal; responsive to determining that the graph is chordal, identifying a connected subgraph within the graph; determining a group of event types to include event types that are associated with vertices in the identified connected subgraph; and transmitting, storing, or displaying data specifying the group of event types.

Abstract: A virtual address of a destination of a packet is parsed into a set of virtual address components. A subset of the set of virtual address components is tokenized into a token. The token is converted into at least a portion of a hostname. A look-up of a real network address corresponding to the hostname is performed. The packet is caused to be transmitted to the real network address, wherein the real network address corresponds to a host machine on a physical network, the receiving virtual entity operating on the host machine.

The first and second racks form a multi-rack distributed storage system. The system includes a distributed database including a first load indicator designating a first processing load of the first access node and a second load indicator designating a second processing load of the second access node. The distributed database is accessible to the first and second access nodes. The system further includes a connection relocation manager configured to relocate the connection with the client from the first access node to the second access node when the second processing load is less than the first processing load.

The method includes analyzing metadata and source code of a network application to extract a set of application tokens, generating an index document of the network application based on the set of application code tokens, wherein the index document is included in a library of index documents corresponding to a number of network applications, extracting a set of packet header tokens from a packet header of a packet in a flow, comparing the set of packet header tokens to the set of index documents to generate a number of match scores, wherein each match score represents a similarity measure between the set of packet header tokens and one index document, and determining, based on a highest match score corresponding to a particular network application, that the flow is generated by the particular network application.

Abstract: A method, a resource manager, and a computer program are described for scheduling instances in a logical server, where each instance belongs to a class of instances, where each class is associated with a required service level objective (SLO). Based on determined margins between current SLOs and required SLOs, instances are sorted. If resources are not enough, an instance having a large margin may be pre-empted irrespective of the class. If available resources are sufficient for an instance having a small margin, this instance can be allocated resources. If the available resources do not suffice, it may be decided to pre-empt another instance to which resource are allocated, in order to free resources sufficient for the instance having the small margin. Accordingly, scheduling is performed for instances having various classes without violating the SLOs of the instances and such that resources are more efficiently used.

Abstract: A virtual network interface controller (NIC) associated with a virtual machine in a cloud computing network is configured to support one or more network containers that encapsulate networking configuration data and policies that are applicable to a specific discrete computing workload to thereby enable the virtual machine to simultaneously belong to multiple virtual networks using the single NIC. The network containers supported by the NIC can be associated with a single tenant to enable additional flexibility such quickly switching between virtual networks and support pre-provisioning of additional computing resources with associated networking policies for rapid deployment. The network containers can also be respectively associated with different tenants so that the single NIC can support multi-tenant services on the same virtual machine.

Abstract: A method for providing a network tap supporting time sensitive network standards includes scanning, by an active network tap, received frames on a network port of the active network tap to identify timing synchronization messages of targeted message types. The method further includes identifying a timing synchronization message of the targeted message type. The method further includes modifying a timing value in the timing synchronization message to account for delay introduced by the active network tap. The method further includes forwarding the timing synchronization message with the modifying timing value to a destination time sensitive network node via an egress network port of the active network tap.

During operation, the system obtains resource consumption data corresponding to one or more service objects. The resource consumption data may include data indicating device resource usage. The system may then accumulate the resource consumption data in a predetermined storage object within a statistical time period corresponding to a service object. The system may sort the resource consumption data accumulated in the predetermined storage object within an update time period corresponding to the service object. The system may then load the sorted resource consumption data.
