Abstract: Apparatus and methods for prioritizing spectrum and controlling data traffic steering within a wireless network. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods provide enhanced wireless services which allow network operators to prioritize utilization of spectrum for their subscribers. In one variant, an enhanced 3GPP UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) framework is provided for a UE connected to 5G wireless network, which allows the UE to use one or more prioritized 3GPP spectrum Band Class(es) based on one or more selection criterion or preconditions. In another variant, UE location information is used to dynamically update a data traffic steering mode or other functionality of an enhanced ATSSS (Access Traffic Steering, Switching, and Splitting) rule framework is described for dynamic control of steering or routing functionality, including between 3GPP- and non-3GPP network accesses for the data traffic.
Abstract: Techniques are described that provide network assisted multi-subscription physical layer sharing at a user equipment (UE) by transmitting a multi-subscription coordination capability to a network, establishing a link for a first subscription with the network based on the multi-subscription coordination capability, and establishing a second subscription with the network using the link based on the multi-subscription coordination capability, the first subscription is associated with the second subscription.
Abstract: A user device may receive from a base station, information indicating that support for a receive limited user device is enabled based on a presence of a threshold number of receive limited user devices within a range of a cell of the base station. A receive limited user device is a user device that is unable to receive a transmission that was transmitted based on one or more communication capabilities of a full set of communication capabilities. The user device may select, in response to receiving the information, one or more communication capabilities to support a receive limited user device. The user device may transmit information using the selected one or more communication capabilities.
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for assignment of wireless devices to a secondary node based on a characteristic of the wireless device and properties of the secondary node. The method may be triggered when noise reaches a predetermined threshold. HPUEs may be assigned to secondary nodes having a high reverse noise and channels having a high spectral efficiency and LPUEs may be assigned to secondary nodes having a lower reverse noise and a lower spectral efficiency.
Abstract: In a wireless network with a plurality of access points, device calculates, for each wireless station in the network, a score based on at least an availability of the wireless network for the wireless station, combines the scores for the wireless stations into a current network score for a present configuration of the wireless network, calculates a plurality of predicted network scores corresponding to predicted network configurations with one wireless station moved to a different access point than in the present configuration, each predicted network score being a combination of the scores for wireless stations not moved in the predicted network configuration and a predicted score for the wireless station moved in the predicted network configuration, selects one of the current network score and the plurality of predicted network scores that satisfies a criterion; and, in case a predicted network score is selected.
Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate sharing of resources amongst multiple nodes. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from using a single measurement gap for master node and secondary node measurements in a multi-radio-access-technology dual connectivity scenario, or similar scenarios. A method can include determining, by a first network node, that a gap pattern is existing in a second network node. The method can also include enquiring, by the first network node to the second network node, whether the gap pattern can be used for a new measurement. The method can further include configuring, by the first network node, a user equipment to perform the new measurement in the gap pattern, based on a response from the second network node to the enquiring.

A method for operating a base station (BS) in a wireless communication network includes receiving a neighbor discovery signal block (NDSB) from a neighbor BS in the wireless communication network, generating measurement information based on the NDSB, and generating a path metric for the neighbor BS based on the generated measurement information. The processor may be is configured to: perform data communication with the first cellular network that supports EUTRA NR dual connectivity (EN-DC) using first identity information of the first subscriber identity module, via the wireless communication circuit; detect an activity that triggers data communication via the second cellular network; and in response to the detection of the activity, perform a process of connecting data communication with the second cellular network using second identify information of the second subscriber identity module via the wireless communication circuit, and maintain support of an EN-DC of a UE capability associated with the first cellular network.
Abstract: Techniques for device to device (D2D) wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) receives device-to-device (D2D) information from a second user equipment (UE). The first UE determines whether the first UE is within a threshold range from the second UE based on the D2D information. Application layer processing is enabled for a message in the D2D information, if the first UE is within the threshold range. The message is blocked from the application layer, if the first UE is not within the threshold range from the second UE.

Abstract: A method for terminal measurement and configuration, a terminal and a base station are provided. The method for terminal measurement and configuration applied to the terminal includes: detecting a state parameter of the terminal; and obtaining measurement configuration information configured based on the state parameter. The method for terminal measurement and configuration applied to the base station includes: obtaining a state parameter of a terminal; and feeding back measurement configuration information to the terminal based on the state parameter. Therefore, the measurement configuration information configured based on the state parameter of the terminal is obtained, and more control optimization on the behavior of the terminal can be performed according to the measurement configuration information. Thus, power consumption of the terminal is saved in a communication system.

The UE receives (1920) a reject message in response to the RRCResumeRequest message. The further RRCResumeRequest message is received by the network during a period hounded approximately by the lesser of a duration of the second timer and a period of the periodic UE event and the greater of the duration of the second timer and the period of the periodic UE event.
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting, identifying, and locating a source of radio frequency (RF) interference are discussed herein. An interference signal can prevent a user equipment (e.g., mobile phone, smartphone, or the like) from receiving a network signal altogether, can cause a temporary loss of the network signal, can affect the quality of the network signal received, or the like. The system allows for an interference source emitting the interference signal to be detected, identified, and located so that the signal can be powered off to clear a frequency band, thereby improving network service.

Abstract: Systems and methods implementing a satellite radio access network (SRAN) receiving a registration request from a user terminal (UT), determining a current tracking area (TA) of the UT, forwarding the registration request and the current TA to an access and mobility management function (AMF), and receiving a registration accept from the AMF that indicates a UT registration area. An implementation receives a UT page command from the AMF and, in response, determines a satellite beam for paging the UT, from among a plurality of satellite beams using the identifier of the current TA, and pages the UT on the satellite beam.
Abstract: A method performed by a network node for managing a radio resource between the network node and a first User Equipment, in a wireless communications network is provided. The network node serves a number of UEs, comprising the first UE and one or more second UEs. The first UE has a radio resource allocated for communication between the first UE and the network node. The network node estimates (203) a prediction of a forthcoming empty data flow related to the allocated radio resource, based on a measured data flow between the network node and the first UE. The network node further determines (205) a threshold related to the prediction, based on a measured data flow between the network node and the number of UEs. The network node then decides (206) whether or not to initiate a removal of the radio resource allocated to the first UE based on whether or not the prediction exceeds the threshold.
