  • Patent number: 5259261
Abstract: The invention is used in an actuating drive comprising two friction partners, in particular a geared actuating drive with a toothed worm wheel which braces itself radially with a cup-shaped edge part against an outer rim part of a concentric slave disc which is driven over an at least tangentially elastic damping liner. The invention is designed to prevent squeaking noises between the friction partners when there is reciprocal relative movement, and to require minimal expenditure of time and energy for construction and assembly. The invention provides in each case for the one rim part to have an even edge surface and for the other rim part to have an uneven friction surface, with elevations only abutting on the one friction surface and with depressions situated inbetween.

  • Patent number: 5259262
Abstract: A non-involute gear used in a gear pair. A first gear has a plurality of radially extending, circumferentially spaced teeth, each with a generally cylindrical, arcuate shaped end surface. A second gear has a plurality of spaced, non-involute shaped teeth. Each tooth of the second gear is formed with opposed base faces disposed at an identical radius. A pair of flats extend in parallel from the ends of each circular base face and terminate in inwardly extending, end portions extending from the flats to the top land of each gear tooth. A tooth space is formed between two adjacent non-involute gear teeth having a semi-circular base portion formed by the opposed circular base faces of two adjacent gear teeth and two parallel flat portions formed by the pair of parallel flats extending from the semi-circular base portion which combine to form a generally U-shaped space for receiving a gear tooth on the first gear.

  • Patent number: 5248283
Abstract: A vehicle transmission has two shafts parallel to one another. At least one of the shafts is formed of two partial shafts which are in alignment and axially spaced apart. A torsion shaft then connects the two for rotation with each other, but prevents transmission of bending moments between the partial shafts. This structure is particularly useful in a hydrostatic-mechanical power distributing transmission, in which the torsion shaft is radially aligned with the planetary gearsets of the power distributing transmission. The torsion shaft can be considerably thinner than the comparable portion of a conventional shaft, so the overall transmission can be more compact radially. The transmission also is provided with unequal gear ratios, while the planetary gearsets are the same size, allowing a particularly compact structure. Preferably, one of the gear ratios with a small control ratio is used as the primary working range for the transmission to maximize efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5237888
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling from a remote operator station a drive means of a ground-traveling machine. A handle accessible to an operator seated at the remote operator station is moveable in a substantially T-shaped pattern. Movement of the operator handle in a line of travel defined by the stem section of the T-shaped pattern engages a clutch mechanism which connects the operator handle to a linkage arm for operating a main motion control apparatus of the drive system located at a main operator station of the machine. Upon release of the operator handle, springs bias the return of the operator handle to the home position and disengagement of the clutch mechanism. In the home position, the remote control apparatus does not interfere with operation of the main motion control apparatus from the main operator station. A safety interlock system prevents operation of the drive system of the machine at other than low speeds.
