  • Patent number: 4890356
Abstract: In the case of a hinge for the connecting of a temple shaft with a hinge piece of a spectacle frame, at least one hinge eye is located on only one of these elements (the hinge piece or the shaft of the temple). The hinge pin running through this eye is designed in one piece with the other element (the shaft of the temple or the hinge piece). For this purpose, either the hinge pin of plastic is injection molded into the opening of the hinge eye or the hinge eye of plastic is injection molded around the hinge pin. In this case, one preferably proceeds in such a manner that one of the two elements with the associated hinge eye or hinge pin is formed first and that this initially formed element forms a part of the surface of the cavity of the injection molding tool for the other element such that the other element is injection-molded directly onto the initially produced element.

  • Patent number: 4882808
Abstract: A hinge includes a hinge arm adapted to be snapped onto a mounting plate. The front of the hinge arm is directly or by an intermediate member indirectly engageable into the mounting plate, and the rear of the hinge arm has a tilting lever at which a hook member is formed by which the tilting lever is lockable to the mounting plate. When a door is mounted to the body of an article of furniture, the hinge arm can be engaged into the mounting plate and then fastened thereto simply by applying pressure. Canting of the hinge arm at the mounting plate is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4878265
Abstract: A releasable door hold-open mechanism, for use with a door closer, is disclosed. The mechanism employs a latch assembly, mounted in a track which defines a predetermined path for a slider shoe associated with a door closer arm. The latch assembly employs a pair of reciprocable rollers, associated with a solenoid activated clevis. When the solenoid is actuated, the clevis maintains the rollers in a latching position, in which they can capture and hold a wedge associated with the slider shoe. Deactivation of the solenoid permits release of the wedge, and the force of the solenoid can also be overcome manually to release the wedge. The latch assembly is selectively positionable in a broad range of positions within the track, to determine the angular position of the door at which holding occurs.

  • Patent number: 4870778
Abstract: In a buoyant fish and live bait container a pair of downwardly open box-like sections are hingedly connected in end abutting relation. Flexible fabric screen or netting material defining an upwardly open box-like receptacle is secured at its upper edge portions to the respective half sections. The receptacle is transversely divided to form bait and catch holding chambers with access thereto through openings in each half section and the receptacle bottom wall of the respective chamber.

  • Patent number: 4862555
Abstract: An adjustable fitting for a cabinet with a door adapted to swing up over the head of the user for adjustable fastening of the door-side end of a swivel arm to the inner side of the door embodies a bearing plate pivotally attached to the door-side end of the swivel arm and a base plate fixedly secured to the inner side of the door. A hook-shaped holding lug formed in the base plate slideably engages a cutout and associated shoulder surface conformed in the bearing plate. Open-ended slots are provided in the bearing plate through which locking screws are inserted into threaded holes of associated raised ears in the upper surface of the base plate opposite the holding lug. The locking screws have collar portions which are larger in diameter than the open ends of the open-ended slots and threaded portions which are smaller in diameter than the open ends of the open-ended slots.

  • Patent number: 4862630
Abstract: A fishing lure has a crab-shaped body portion provided with a plurality of pairs of legs extending from opposite sides of the body. The lure is preferably molded from a flexible plastic material and is painted or otherwise colored to have a green upper surface with brown spots and a whitish undersurface in fluorescent color to simulate a live crab. A lower section of each the legs is provided with a cavity to catch water currents during use and produce life-like movement of the leg. The cross sectional areas of the cavities may be varied between legs to produce different rates of movement of the various legs. Wire stiffeners may be provided in an upper section of each leg to produce varying rates of movement between the upper and lower leg sections. The upper leg sections may be formed with a rearwardly extending stabilizing flap to control leg movement. A stabilizing fin may be provided in a recess formed in the undersurface of the body portion.

  • Patent number: 4850129
Abstract: A bait forming gun is set forth for the formation of bait associated with fishing. A tray containing a dough-like bait composition is positioned for accepting a forward portion barrel of the gun wherein previously a fishing hook has been inserted through a first axial slot along the barrel wherein upon imposing of the barrel into the bait, the barrel is twisted to sever the bait and encase the fishing hook with the bait. A second diametrically opposed slot within a forwardmost portion of the barrel of an axial extent greater than that of the first slot is positioned to prevent sticking of the bait within the barrel when an associated release plunger is depressed and a spring biased magnet normally holding the bait and hook forced forwardly to eject the bait and hook from the gun.

  • Patent number: 4845873
Abstract: An animal decoy with a movable appendage. An electric motor is mounted atop a frame contained within a chamber formed by an animal main body shell. In one embodiment, a neck and head is pivotally mounted to the frame and driven in pivot fashion by a rod pivotally connecting the neck to the electric motor output. In another embodiment, a pair of wings are pivotally mounted atop a pair of supports fixedly secured to the frame. The distal ends of the wings are pivotally attached to the forward end of a rod having a back end offset, but connected to the rotatable output of an electric motor. The connecting rod extends through a control post which limits movement of the rod and directs the movement of the wings in a flapping fashion.

  • Patent number: 4841660
Abstract: A fishing rod holder which mounts on the hinged lid of a tackle box and allows the lid to be opened and closed without disturbing the rod holder. A mounting base is bolted on top of the tackle box lid and receives one or more rod holding brackets which are latched to the base in a manner permitting them to turn to track a fish. Each bracket is a C-shaped device having a wire gate which closes its open side after the rod has been passed through it and into the bracket. The brackets can be removed from the base and stored in the tackle box when not in use.

  • Patent number: 4833756
Abstract: A bendable drapery rod assembly comprising an elongated plastic rod member formed of flexible plastic and defining a trackway for drapery carriers, an elongated metal rod member, and provision for laterally retaining the plastic rod member and metal rod member together along their length to provide a combination plastic and metal rod unit. The metal rod member has a cross section with a major crosswise dimension and a relatively smaller minor crosswise dimension disposed transverse to the major crosswise dimension, and the rod unit is bendable in a direction laterally of the minor crosswise dimension of the metal rod member into a curved condition. The metal rod member is ductile and adapted to take a permanent set to hold the rod unit in a curved condition, and the major crosswise dimension of the metal rod member is substantially greater than the minor crosswise dimension to stiffen the rod unit against bending in a direction laterally of the major crosswise dimension.

  • Patent number: 4831764
Abstract: A fishing lure constructed of a generally solid one-piece body, a plurality of strands of living rubber which together pass transversely through a single generally horizontal opening in the body, and a simulated eye attached to the bottom of the body, and a method of making the lure. The surface of the body is rough, and is finished with a high gloss finish so as to simulate the appearance of feathers or fur. The eye includes a single transparent domed enclosure attached to the bottom surface of the body, and a loose ball enclosed therein. In the method, a solid block of wood is shaped into an elongated shape of a desired lure, and apertures are formed in the block for the attachment of hooks and a line, including at least one transverse hole entirely through the body. A simulated eye is attached to the bottom of the body. Next the body is finished with a high gloss finish.
