  • Patent number: 7769828
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for dynamically establishing a client's Time Sharing Option (TSO) and/or Interactive Productivity System Facility (ISPF) session and maintaining the client's TSO/ISPF session on a zero-downtime/operating system (z/OS) host over multiple service calls. A session provisioning and maintenance (SPM) utility determines whether a TSO/ISPF session exists for a client making a request for a TSO/ISPF service. When a TSO/ISPF session does not exist for the client, session establishment is initiated by generating a TSO initialization module in a new UNIX System Services (USS) process. Session establishment involves initializing a user's own TSO address space through USS and using USS service call API's to make TSO/ISPF service call requests in the TSO address space. The SPM utility maintains the client's TSO/ISPF session over multiple service calls, bypassing the overhead of having to establish a new session for every service request which requires TSO/ISPF services.

  • Patent number: 7730141
Abstract: A user defines mutually exclusive inbox and spam folders to which emails are routed based on a rating assigned to each email. A variable user-defined range defines a mapping of the ratings to each folder. Incoming emails are routing to one of the folders according to the range. A reference set of emails is designated, each having a rating and either an inbox label or a spam label. A display indicates the number the reference emails in each folder if the reference emails are routed to one of the folders according to their ratings and according to the user-defined range.

  • Patent number: 7725572
Abstract: A monitoring system and method are described which simplify the management of complex, multi-tiered networks such as those used in large enterprises. One embodiment of the system is implemented across a cluster of application servers which are communicatively coupled together on a network to serve applications over the network to a plurality of client. Each application server is comprised of a plurality of server nodes. Each of the server nodes is assigned its own dedicated management bean (“MBean”) server and each of the MBean servers are associated with a plurality of MBeans for monitoring specified system resources. In addition, one embodiment of the invention includes notification logic which generates cluster-wide notifications on certain specified events associated with certain server node resources. The cluster-wide notifications are accessible from any one of the server nodes within the application server cluster.

  • Patent number: 7603431
Abstract: A system provides for the secure exchanging files with a remote transfer server over an open network such as the Internet. The system comprises a database storing file transfer parameters in association with identification of a remote file transfer client. The file transfer parameters include object destination parameters defining a processing call to a transfer server message queuing manager operating in conjunction with the transfer server. The processing call provides for delivery of the binary object to the transfer server message queuing manager in conjunction with a destination queue definition which provides for queuing the binary object within the defined queue for retrieval by a destination application. A transfer application coupled to the database comprises a plurality of file transfer methods available to remote file transfer clients making method calls thereto.

  • Patent number: 7596596
Abstract: The invention is a demand-based messaging system that enables a user to mark any location in a message and share the mark with a second user. The invention comprises a messaging program operable on a plurality of computers connected by one or more communications media. The program configures a first computer to accept message data, including markers and links, from a user. A marker identifies a specific location within message data, and a link refers to a specific marker within message data. The program further configures the first computer to transfer message data to a second computer. The program further configures the second computer to display the message data as it is received, and to synchronize the display with a marker when a user activates a link that refers to the marker.

  • Patent number: 7590728
Abstract: A system and method for detecting aberrant network behavior. One embodiment provides a system of detecting aberrant network behavior behind a network access gateway comprising a processor, a first network interface coupled to the processor, a second network interface coupled to the processor, a storage media accessible by the processor and a set of computer instructions executable by the processor. The computer instructions can be executable to observe network communications arriving at the first network interface from multiple clients and determine when the traffic of a particular client is indicative of malware infection or other hostile network activity.

  • Patent number: 7536470
Abstract: A random access read/write media format that enables segments of media to be read, written, accessed, and streamed in a non-sequential order. A media file is divided into a series of timeblocks TB0 to TBn-1 wherein each timeblock consists of media packets of a short non-overlapping time span. Each media packet in the media file is also divided into data units identifiable by data unit ID. A timeblock index table, with an entry for each timeblock in the series, and a media packet index field with a data unit ID entry for each data unit in the media packet (located in each timeblock header), are used to quickly locate portions of desired data. This two-level index hierarchy, the timeblock index table and the media packet index table, eases the locating, reading and writing of non-sequential media packets. The timeblock index allows data to be quickly found in terms of time, while the media packet index allows data to be quickly found by data unit ID.

  • Patent number: 7433949
Abstract: The invention discloses a dispatching method for polling device data. The method comprises the steps of: sorting managed devices according to their types, sorting various types of data of each device so as to form different modules, and assigning a priority attribute and a polling period attribute to each module; dividing the managed devices into two sets: one set consisting of devices to be polled and the other set consisting of devices whose connection states need to be detected; and polling each module in the set consisting of devices to be polled according to its priority and polling period periodically. With this invention, different polling periods can be set and different polling policies can be applied according to data changeability. In addition, polling policies can be changed in real time and flexibly based on the condition of devices.
