  • Patent number: 6286982
Abstract: A lighting apparatus having a light emitting unit separable from a battery case can be used conveniently for a bicycle. The light emitting unit incorporates a light bulb capable of being lighted on with an electric current supplied from the battery case through a power supply cable. Since the light emitting unit is separated from the battery case, it can be made compact and easily mounted on the handlebar of the bicycle independent of the battery case. Consequently, the light emitting unit is not a hindrance to a bicycle rider in handling the bicycle, and it is hard to experience a shock and be damaged in riding the bicycle. By demounting the light emitting unit and battery case from the bicycle and uniting them directly to each other, the lighting apparatus can be used as a portable flashlight.

  • Patent number: 6286977
Abstract: A decorative light with a lock device has a socket, a base inserted into the socket and a bulb mounted in the base. A locking tab is integrally formed on the base and a protrusion is integrally formed on the free end of the locking tab. A retaining structure to engage the protrusion of the locking tab is disposed on the inner periphery of the socket. Consequently, the base can be securely held in the socket by the engagement between the retaining feature and the protrusion, and the base will not inadvertently detach from the socket even when an external force is applied.

  • Patent number: 6283602
Abstract: In a lighting device in which planar light is emitted from the planar light emitting surface of a light guide by using a point-source light, such as an LED, the emitted light having a uniform luminance level is obtained on the overall light emitting surface. The lighting device has a point-source light 18 for emitting light in a point-like form. A planar light guide 16 radiates light in a planar form from the planar light emitting surface 16a. A linear light guide 19 is disposed between the point-source light 18 and the planar light guide 16. The point-like light emitted from the point-source light 18 is converted into linear light by the linear light guide 19, and the linear light is guided into the planar light guide 16 through the light incident surface 16b. Since the linear light is incident on the planar light guide 16, the light having a uniform luminance level can be obtained on the overall light emitting surface 16a.

  • Patent number: 6250773
Abstract: A novel night lamp comprises essentially by positioning a luminescent sheet against snap protrusions provided in a semi-circular arc-like upper shade such that the luminescent sheet can be affected by said arc curvature of said upper shade to form a corresponding semi-circular arc plane and protrude out of an open portion on said upper shade. As said upper shade covers said night lamp body, the luminescent sheet is hold between the upper shade and the semi-circular arc-like protruding block of the night lamp body and fits intimately against the protruding body. At the same time, the conductive ends extended on ends of said luminescent sheet will contact conductive springs slipped on shaft levers provided on a positioning seat of said night lamp body. As a result, an electric power can be conducted via said conductive copper pieces and said conductive springs to said luminescent sheet and activate said luminescent sheet to luminescence.

  • Patent number: 6244732
Abstract: There is provided a lamp composed of a light source, a tilted ellipsoidal rotation surface reflector, and an annular cylindrical lens. The tilted ellipsoidal rotation surface reflector is formed of an ellipsoidal rotation surface emerging when an ellipsoid, having a first focal line located on the center axis of the light source and adjacent the light source and a second focal point located on an oblique line passing through the first focal point and tilted appropriately from the light-source center axis and assumed on a plane containing the light-source center axis and the oblique line, is rotated around the light-source center axis. The annular cylindrical lens is obtained by rotating, around the light-source center axis, the cross-sectional configuration of an aspheric lens having a focal point adjacent the second focal point of the ellipsoid and having an optical axis nearly parallel to the light-source center axis.

  • Patent number: 6244733
Abstract: The present invention is an improved low voltage track lighting system. The system includes a flat track which may be bent. The track has a flat insulator base with opposed flat sides. The depth of the base is greater than its thickness. A thin flat electrical conductor is fixed to each of the flat sides of the base forming conductors on opposite sides of the base. A step down transformer is adapted to be connected to a source of electric power. A feed mount is adapted to be fixed to a supporting surface to be held by the supporting surface. An electric conductive path in the feed mount is connected to each conductor and to the step down transformer, so that each of the conductors is connected to the step down transformer. An adapter is supported on the track and is in electric contact with each of the conductors of the track. A low voltage lamp is supported on the adapter and in electric contact with the adapter to be energized by an electric current from the step down transformer.
