The container may be sealed and an interior defined by the container may include a liquid or gas having a concentration of oxygen in a range of 0 volume percent (vol %) to 21 vol %, based on the total volume of the liquid or gas. The container may have a set oxo-biodegradation rate.
Abstract: A packaging device incorporating a breathable peel/reseal film and enabling a preservation process for allowing for the distribution, storage and multiple servings of a food product, particularly perishable food product(s), and initiating and controlling the transmission rates, respiration rates or deterioration of the perishable food product(s) and thereby, maintaining good internal and external food quality and normal development of flavor and aroma characteristics. The packaging device includes a plurality of atmospheric control attributes that modulates or controls the atmosphere within the packaging device as the food product(s) respire in order to promote the extended shelf-life of the food product and the maintenance of the quality and desirable marketable characteristics of the food product.
Abstract: An article includes walls defining an insulating space therebetween and a vent forming an exit for gas molecules during evacuation of the space. A distance separating the walls is variable in a portion adjacent the vent such that gas molecules are directed towards the vent imparting a greater probability of molecule egress than ingress such that deeper vacuum is developed without requiring getter material. The variable-distance portion may be formed by converging walls. Alternatively, a portion of one of the walls may be formed such that a normal line at any location within that portion is directed substantially towards a vent opening in the other wall.
Abstract: A biodegradable and dissolvable container may include a biodegradable and water soluble shell defining the container sized to accommodate a volume of a liquid, the shell having walls extending upward from a closed bottom; an exterior water insoluble layer coating an exterior surface of the walls of the shell; and an inner water insoluble layer coating an interior of the shell, wherein the container may completely dissolve in water over a predetermined period of time.
Abstract: A packaging bag for packaging a melt-processable polyvinyl alcohol resin is formed from a film having a methanol vapor transmission rate of 0.5 to 1000 g/m2·day. A method of storing a melt-processable polyvinyl alcohol resin includes the step of sealingly packaging melt-processable polyvinyl alcohol resin particles with the use of the packaging bag formed from the aforementioned film. Where the melt-processable polyvinyl alcohol resin is packaged with the use of the packaging bag, therefore, an organic solvent remaining in the packaged polyvinyl alcohol resin can be released in the form of vapor to the outside through the packaging bag to dissipate, whereby the resulting polyvinyl alcohol resin has a reduced organic solvent concentration after storage thereof in the packaging bag. As a result, the melt-processable polyvinyl alcohol resin is improved in forming stability.
Abstract: An electro-optic assembly includes a first substrate and a second substrate. A primary seal is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The primary seal, the first substrate, and the second substrate define an interior cavity. A fill port extends through the primary seal. A secondary seal is disposed proximate a side of the primary seal. The primary seal and the secondary seal define a channel. A sealing plug is disposed within the channel.

Abstract: In certain aspects, the inventive subject matter is directed to production of constructs of footwear and components thereof by jet extrusion. The inventive subject matter contemplates novel processes for making such constructs using jets or streams of materials that solidify as fibers, and which form into two- or three-dimensional webs as they are collected. The webs may be in the nature of films, membranes, or mats. In some embodiments, the inventive subject matter generally relates to nonwoven textiles consisting of webs of superfine fibers, i.e., fibers with diameters in nanoscale or micronscale ranges.

Abstract: Composite products and related methods are disclosed. In some examples, methods of filament winding composite components and products, such as a sleeve and/or a mandrel for use in down-hole applications, are disclosed. The winding of components can involve using a percentage of fiber roving strands that are blown during manufacture such that they have fiber loops that when wound as layers forms bridges across the discrete layers to enhance the inter-laminar strength of the composite product.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides catheters comprising polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tubes with advantageous combinations of strength, flexibility, and size. Such tubes can exhibit features including an average wall thickness of 0.001? or less, a tensile stress at break of greater than 5000 psi, and a storage modulus of less than 100,000 psi at 37° C. Abstract: A fiber-reinforced member includes: a base member having a tubular region with an outer circumferential surface extending along and substantially in parallel with an axial direction; and a fiber-reinforced resin layer constituted of a tow prepreg wound in an overlapping manner to cover the outer circumferential surface of the base member along a predetermined direction crossing the axial direction when viewed in a radial direction of the base member, the tow prepreg serving as a widened tape-like member. The tape-like member constituting the fiber-reinforced resin layer has a portion having a fiber line extending along a direction crossing the predetermined direction. A size of a width of the tape-like member constituting the fiber-reinforced resin layer is not less than 100 times and not more than 400 times as large as a size of a thickness of the tape-like member constituting the fiber-reinforced resin layer in the radial direction.
