  • Patent number: 10853991
Abstract: An artificial reality system is described includes a hand-held controller tracking sub-system having two components, a Field-of-View (FOV) tracker and a non-FOV tracker that applies specialized motion models when one or more of controllers are not trackable within the field of view. In particular, under typical operating conditions, the FOV tracker receives state data for a Head Mounted Display (HMD) and controller state data (velocity, acceleration etc.) of a controller to compute estimated poses for the controller. If the controller is trackable (e.g., within the field of view and not occluded), then the pose as computed by the FOV tracker is used and the non-FOV tracker is bypassed. If the controller is not trackable within the field of view and the controller state data meets activation conditions for one or more corner tracking cases, then the non-FOV tracker applies one or more of specialized motion models to compute a controller pose for the controller.

  • Patent number: 10846533
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) system for aviation generates aviation objects over an image during flight. The AR system may determine a location and an orientation of the image capture device based on the location information and orientation information. The AR system may determine a field of view of the image capture device and identify aviation objects within the field of view. The AR system can then generate graphical user interface elements for identified aviation objects to be overlayed on the image data.

  • Patent number: 10838574
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for saving and loading workspaces in augmented reality (AR) environments. An embodiment operates by receiving a selection of an AR meeting space to open in a current physical location, wherein AR meeting space was previously configured for a remote physical location different from the current physical location. A selection of an AR meeting space to open in a current physical location is received. An arrangement of one or more digital objects of the selected AR meeting space is determined. A current anchor area within the current physical location that corresponds to a remote anchor area of the remote physical location is identified. The arrangement of the one or more digital objects of the AR meeting space is modified in the current physical location based on an alignment of the current anchor area with the remote anchor area.

  • Patent number: 10832474
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a tetrahedral mesh representation of a volumetric object. A triangular surface mesh is received that defines a volumetric region. In response to the receiving, a root box is divided into a plurality of partitions with subdivision planes separating adjacent partitions, the triangular surface mesh enclosed within the root box. The plurality of partitions are assigned to different ones of a plurality of mesh processors. A tetrahedral mesh is generated within each of the plurality of partitions. Tetrahedrals that intersect the subdivision planes separating adjacent partitions are deleted to define gap regions, and a conformal tetrahedral mesh representation of the volumetric object is generated, wherein each of the gap regions is filled with an additional tetrahedral mesh.

  • Patent number: 10825224
Abstract: Certain embodiments involve automatically detecting video frames that depict visemes and that are usable for generating an animatable puppet. For example, a computing device accesses video frames depicting a person performing gestures usable for generating a layered puppet, including a viseme gesture corresponding to a target sound or phoneme. The computing device determines that audio data including the target sound or phoneme aligns with a particular video frame from the video frames that depicts the person performing the viseme gesture. The computing device creates, from the video frames, a puppet animation of the gestures, including an animation of the viseme corresponding to the target sound or phoneme that is generated from the particular video frame. The computing device outputs the puppet animation to a presentation device.

  • Patent number: 10818051
Abstract: A pathway for each entity in a cohort may be extracted from raw data comprising a plurality of events. A common graph structure may be created based the extracted pathways. For each cohort, a relative signature trait may be computed for each edge based on a number of appearances of the edge in the extracted pathways that are associated with the cohort. A relationship expression may be obtained. The relationship expression may be with respect to at least two cohorts for which relative signature traits were computed. The common graph structure may be processed based on the relationship expression to determine an output label for each edge. A visualization of the common graph structure may be displayed.

  • Patent number: 10812422
Abstract: A head-mounted device (HMD) of a first user has a transparent display. The HMD determines location information of a second user relative to the HMD of the first user. The second user is located within a predefined distance of the HMD. The location information identifies a distance and a direction of the second user relative to the HMD. The HMD receives audio content from the second user, generates augmented reality (AR) content based on the audio content, and displays the AR content in the transparent display based on the location information of the second user. The AR content appears coupled to the second user.

  • Patent number: 10802285
Abstract: A virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) headset system (including the capability for one or both of virtual reality and augmented reality) includes a remote optical engine. The remote disposition of the optical engine removes many or all of the components of the VR/AR headset system that add weight, heat, and other characteristics that can add to user discomfort in using the system from the headset. An electronic image is received and/or generated remotely at the optical engine, and is transmitted optically from the remote location to the headset to be viewed by the user. One or more optical waveguides may be used to transmit the electronic image to one or more passive displays of the headset, from the remote optical engine.

  • Patent number: 10799294
Abstract: A method and system to generate an operating room layout plan for a surgical procedure involving a patient and a trajectory of access. A patient model is positioned in a virtual coordinate space representing the operating room, and is rendered, along with the trajectory of access relative to the patient, on a display. The trajectory of access defines a zone of operation in the virtual coordinate space. The planning system receives selection of a navigation camera location in the virtual coordinate space; renders a navigation camera model visually indicating an operative field of view; determines whether the navigation camera has a direct line-of-sight to the zone of operation and, if not, indicates an error; and outputs the operating room layout plan based on the location of the models in the virtual coordinate space.

  • Patent number: 10762674
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to beautifying freeform input paths in accordance with paths existing in the drawing (i.e., resolved paths). In some embodiments of the present invention, freeform input paths of a curved format can be modified or replaced to more precisely illustrate a path desired by a user. As such, a user can provide a freeform input path that resembles a path of interest by the user, but is not as precise as desired. Based on existing paths in the electronic drawing, a path suggestion(s) can be generated to rectify, modify, or replace the input path with a more precise path. In some cases, a user can then select a desired path suggestion, and the selected path then replaces the initially provided freeform input path.
