    Abstract: A mechanism that automatically achieves alignment of the communications elements during assembly of a modular computer system, without the need for human intervention. The mechanism comprises an alignment frame provided with bumps and depressions. The bumps in the alignment frames mate with the depressions on adjacent alignment frames. Each depression comprises an entrance opening that is wider than the diameter of the bumps. The diameter of the entrance opening is determined by the expected accuracy of the alignment of subsystems or bricks within the modular electronic system. When it is desired to align the communication elements, the alignment frames are brought into engagement by causing alignment guides to slide past each other, and to guide the bumps in the alignment frames into the depressions in the adjacent alignment frames. The mechanism further comprises a set of springs that force the allow the alignment frames to be retained securely by the communications elements.

    Abstract: A panel, rotatably attached to a body of a telephone set, is provided with a rib having the first and second convex parts. A slide member, slidably held by a panel receiving portion of the body, is provided with a leaf spring which is in contact with a rib supporting portion and the panel receiving portion. When the panel rotates from the panel receiving portion to a position at a desired angle, the first or second convex part of the rib pushes the rib supporting portion, and the slide member then slides relative to the panel receiving portion while causing elastic deformation of the leaf spring. Once the first or second convex part of the rib passes through the rib supporting portion, the slide member is returned to an original position by the leaf spring, and the rib supporting portion supports the rib. Once the slide member slides, the panel rotates from the position at the desired angle to the panel receiving portion, and the slide member is returned to the original position by the leaf spring.

A fan causes air to blow across the processor having an attached heat sink disposed within the cooling assembly, and the air exits the cooling assembly without adversely affecting the other components surrounding the processor.     Abstract: The present invention is to provide a device for securely fastening a peripheral in a docking, wherein in response to turning a mechanism of a lock to lift one end of a pivot member in the docking, the other end thereof lowers to press a bar at one end of a lever-like link and lift a block member at the other end thereof respectively by turning about a fulcrum under a bottom of the link. Further, a multibay disposed in the docking has its inner end disposed above the block member and comprises a removing/positioning member having a sliding button and a projection on one side. While inserting a peripheral into a slot of the multibay, a tab thereof pushes the sliding button and the projection into a cavity thereof with an inner end of the peripheral being spaced from the inner end of the multibay by a predetermined distance. And in turn lifting the block member will cause it to urge against a rear end of the peripheral for prohibiting the peripheral from moving the predetermined distance and being withdrawn.

The protective enclosure is further adapted to allow infrared and other communication signals while the device is secured inside the case. Further, electrical connections can be made through the case without affecting the protection afforded the electronic device inside.
