  • Patent number: 7171448
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for conducting activities between users in a collaborative work tool architecture. A client user interface including at least one activity data field is afforded. Then, a selection of a particular activity data field from a user is received. Additional information on the selected activity field is then presented using the client user interface. The user is then allowed to input meeting data concerning the selected activity data field. The received meeting data is stored on a server via a network. Finally, a plurality of participant users are allowed access to the stored meeting data via the network.

  • Patent number: 7155528
Abstract: A simple supplementary service protocol (SSSP) is provided for implementing functionally based supplementary services using the H.323 standard. According to the preferred embodiment, a generic and expandable protocol is provided for passing supplementary services information between H.323 entities for the provision of over twenty classes of functionally based supplementary services. The protocol of the present invention is relatively lightweight (i.e. not code intensive) compared to H.450 since it does not rely on ASN.1 encoding. In addition, the mixture of functional and stimulus protocol concepts in the design of the inventive protocol results in robust functional characteristics and implementation capability using only lightweight Endpoints.

  • Patent number: 7152121
Abstract: Individual records of a data set include data and semantic information to describe the data. The records in the data set are encoded to generate an encoded data set using a compression function which is determined from semantic information that is common to multiple records of the data set. Multiple records of the encoded data set include the data without the common semantic information. The encoded data set is transmitted, or otherwise communicated, to a destination device along with an expansion function that includes the semantic information that is common to the multiple records of the data set. The destination device expands the encoded data set with the expansion function such that the multiple records of the encoded data set are expanded to include the common semantic information.

  • Patent number: 7127492
Abstract: The present invention presents methods and apparatus supporting acceleration of networked applications by means of dynamic distributed execution and maintenance. It also enables management and administration of the distributed components of the networked applications from a responsible point of origination. The method and apparatus deploys a plurality of proxy servers within the network. Clients are directed to one of the proxy servers using wide area load balancing techniques. The proxy servers download programs from backend servers and cache them in a local store. These programs, in conjunction with data stored at cached servers, are used to execute applications at the proxy server, eliminating the need for a client to communicate to a backend server to execute a networked application.

  • Patent number: 7120669
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling the data size of an electronic mail. A computer program executes the method as follows. A mail controlling section compresses data of an electronic mail so that the data size is not more than an unsendable size recorded in relation to a destination electronic mail address by referring to an address table. A mail sending section sends the compressed electronic mail to a recipient. In the case where an electronic mail that has been received by a mail receiving section has a data size which is larger than a sendable size, an updating section updates the sendable size. Further, in the case where an error mail with regard to an electronic mail which is smaller in data size than the unsendable size is received, the unsendable size is updated.

  • Patent number: 7117270
Abstract: Conversion of subscription predicates for transmission in a publish-subscribe network. Subscriptions include Boolean-valued predicates defining content desired by a subscriber. An agent application converts the predicates into a suitable form for transmission to routers in a network core. The routers process the predicates into filter tables or data structures for use in content-based routing, which involves applying attributes in received packets to the filters. The agent also receives content corresponding with subscriptions and calls applications for presenting the content to a subscriber.

  • Patent number: 7072966
Abstract: A method which routes a communication session, from a client to a service agent station, utilizing a dynamic skills table improves the efficiency of the communication session and increases client satisfaction. A remote server dynamically updates the skills table with service agent information, obtained from one or more sources, and communicates the skills table to a switch. A profile of the client's request for the communication session is generated and compared to the skills table. The switch subsequently routes the client to the optimal service agent station.
