    Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid-crystal display device that is able to reduce EMI, current consumption, and so forth in an interchip transfer of display data, a timing signal, and so forth and to provide an appropriate timing margin. In an interchip transfer of display data, a timing signal, and so forth that uses a plurality of data drivers, a certain data driver is used as a data driver. When the data driver is used in a first stage, an internal receiver is made to function as an RSDS receiver by fixing the IFM terminal at the “H” level. The received RSDS signal constitutes a CMOS signal that has been divided into two by the receiver and is output by the transmitter. Here, a data inversion signal is generated and output by the transmitter. When the data driver is used in the second or subsequent stage, the internal receiver is made to function as a CMOS receiver by fixing the IFM terminal at the “L” level.

A plurality of regions is required to define a space approximately sized as a human head. Each element contains a beam power variable indicative of radiation exposure at a corresponding region. Software resident in the processor has code for receiving a value of beam power incident on each region being scanned, for incrementing a stored beam power variable for each region if the beam power value is above a predetermined threshold, and for outputting to at least one of the scan position and the beam power controller a signal indicative of each region at which the beam power variable is above a predetermined value.

    Abstract: A display device comprising a light guide (12), a front plate (14), and an intermediate electromechanically operable foil (16). Two electrode layers (22, 23) are arranged on either side of the foil (16) to induce electrostatic forces on the foil (16) and to bring selected portions of the foil into contact with the light guide (12), thereby extracting light from the light guide (12). The second electrode layer (22) is arranged on the opposite side of the light guide (12) with reference to the foil (16), and separated from the light guide (12) by means of a refractive layer (28). As no electrode layer is required on the light guide itself, the light path of rays extracted from the light guide is cleaner, and the absorption of light is reduced. The light guide can have a thickness such that the light extracted from the light guide per unit length is sufficient to allow for line-at-a-time addressing.

    Abstract: A light-sensitive (i.e., touch-sensitive) display device that requires less circuitry than the currently available light-sensitive display devices is presented. Unlike the currently available devices, which require at least two switching elements and a capacitor to implement a photosensitive switch, the invention only requires one switching element. The device of the invention includes a substrate with a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of read-out lines, a power line, and an array of photosensitive switches formed thereon. The scan lines and the read-out lines extend in directions that are substantially perpendicular to each other, forming pixels. One photosensitive switch is formed in each pixel, and each photosensitive switch has one light-sensitive transistor. The transistor connects the power line to one of the read-out lines in response to sensing incident light.

When a user lowers a hovering stylus while remaining within a hover zone, cursor control is modified to be more easily controllable by the user. Any action that may be taken in response to the touch down may be sent to the projection location as well. Also provided are cursor control zones. A dampening zone may be used to provide dampened cursor movement feedback in response to movement input provided by a pointing device. Also, a dead zone may be used to prohibit cursor movement in response to movement input provided by the pointing device.

The receiving circuit connects to an amplifying circuit to amplify the signal and input the amplified signal into a phase angle detecting circuit and an amplitude detecting circuit respectively to control the phase angle and amplitude. And then the signal is inputted to a primary CPU to realize the writing function of the wireless pen.
