Abstract: A method, system and software tool for emulating a portal application in a rich client application are provided. The rich client application is executable on a client platform capable of displaying views contributed by plug-in components registered with the client platform. The method comprises providing a user interface for eliciting user inputs for creating a new portal application on the client platform, detecting user selection of a portal page layout, and one or more views for each cell of the page layout, and generating a description of a client page representing the portal application. When the rich client application is run on the client platform it is directed to build a client page representing the portal application using the generated description.

Abstract: A method and device for displaying a document written in a Western language in a readable form without decreasing the utilization efficiency of a display screen. When a tail of a word to be displayed goes beyond an end of a line on the screen and the number of characters contained in the word does not exceeds a reference value, a line feed is inserted immediately before the word to perform word-wrapping, and when the number of characters contained in the word exceeds the reference value, a line feed is inserted halfway within the word to display divided parts of the word on different lines.

Abstract: A system for social bookmarking of a resource provided through a Web application that doesn't follow the representational state transfer architectural style (REST). When processing a request for a social bookmarking operation, the system searches for a URL and potentially other resource information within the document object model of a currently loaded Web page. If such resource information is found, it is used to process the requested social bookmarking operation. Otherwise, if such resource information is not found in the document object model, the system uses the URL stored in the location bar of the Web browser to process the requested social bookmarking operation. The system includes semantic information in the DOM of a Web page that is used to identify subsets of content within the Web page that can be socially bookmarked. The semantic information may be stored in what is generally referred to as “microformatting”.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer system performs a method for providing repository item information from one or more different perspectives using virtual repository items within a customizable presentation scheme. A computer system accesses a user-defined presentation scheme that describes a manner in which repository items are to be presented. The computer system generates virtual repository items for actual repository items based on the user-defined presentation scheme. The virtual repository items are generated for presentation along with their actual repository items. The computer system maps the virtual repository items to different virtualized sets of repository items according to the user-defined presentation scheme. The virtualized sets comprise at least one of actual repository items and virtual repository items. The computer system presents the virtualized sets of repository items in one or more different perspectives within the user-defined presentation scheme.

Abstract: A form management system is provided that bundles individual electronic form instances into a single bundled form. Form field names in the electronic form instances and scripts are renamed at the time the form instances are merged into a bundle. In this manner, common names can be assigned to individual form fields in individual forms and then only the form field names in electronic forms selected for the bundle are renamed. Furthermore, the same renaming scheme is also executed in the scripts associated with the individual form documents and fields. As such, the form field names in the scripts of bundled documents are altered to reference the renamed form fields in the corresponding component forms.

Abstract: Various embodiments include apparatus, methods, and systems for column navigation within a view of a table or other source of two-dimensional data. Various embodiments include method comprising displaying a first column of data from a plurality of columns of data included in table and having one or more rows across each of the plurality of columns of data, displaying a second column of data from of the plurality of columns of data directly beside the first column of data so that the one or more rows in the second column of data align with the same one or more rows in the first column and displaying with the second column of data a symbol that when actuated provides an overview menu including a list of selectable columns of data included in the plurality of columns of data included in the table.

Abstract: A computer system, method and program is generated for editing text data, which have been created on a basis of a voice or a video image. In one embodiment, a first computer for outputting voice or video image(s), and for identifying a part of text data, which needs to be edited, in response to a received instruction is provided. A second computer for outputting voice or video image, and for editing the part, which has been identified by the first computer, in response to said received instruction is also provided. A mouse and keyboard can also be incorporated into the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the generation of a Sitemap XML file. The method comprises retrieving input parameter values and determining at least one target entity (an online retail store) within a target environment (a retailer) for which a search engine sitemap definition page will be generated and rendering the sitemap definition page for the determined target entity. The rendered content being further evaluated and ordered according to predetermined priority algorithms. The method further comprises outputting the rendered sitemap definition page, where if the output sitemap definition page exceeds a predetermined size, the output sitemap definition page is divided into smaller segments and an index file is generated and associated with the segmented output sitemap definition page files. Caching functionality (to enhance operational performance) and access control functionality (for controlling the rendering of sitemaps) is further provided within aspects of the present invention.

Abstract: A structured-document management apparatus includes data storage which stores a plurality of structured document data items each including a plurality of elements, common-structure storage which stores a common structure including a plurality of structures included in the structured document data items, a first acquisition unit configured to acquire a new structured document data item, an update unit configured to update the common structure into a new common structure including the structures and a plurality of structures included in the new structured document data item, a second acquisition unit configured to acquire a differential structure between the new common structure and a structure of the new structured document data item, differential structure storage which stores the differential structure, and a storing unit configured to store an array of elements of the new structured document data item into the data storage, the array being arranged based on the differential structure.
