  • Patent number: 7276030
Abstract: Chest motion associated with breathing is detected to obtain a breathing motion signal representing the chest motion in the form of an electrical signal; then, the times at which specific points occur in the waveform of the breathing motion signal are detected and, when the time interval between the specific points is within a predetermined range, the presence of a human body is detected in a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7225013
Abstract: A method and system predicts changes of physiological/pathological states in a patient, based on sampling, processing and analyzing a plurality of aggregated noisy biomedical signals. A reference database of raw data streams or features is generated by aggregating one or more raw data streams. The features are derived from the raw data streams and represent physiological/pathological states. Each feature consists of biomedical signals of a plurality of patients, wherein several patients have one or more of the physiological/pathological states. A path, which is an individual dynamics, between physiological/pathological states is obtained according to their order of appearance. Then, a prediction of being in physiological/pathological states, or transitions to physiological/pathological states in the patient, is obtained by comparing the individual dynamics with known dynamics, obtained from prior knowledge.

  • Patent number: 7169110
Abstract: An apparatus for diagnosing sleep apnea, which detects a temporary cessation of breathing during sleep by applying light to a part of a subject's body and processing light output therefrom, includes a light source unit for sequentially generating light of at least two different wavelengths according to a control signal, a photodetecting unit for detecting the light, which are generated by the light source unit and applied to the body part, and for converting the detected light signals into electric signals, a diagnosis unit for substantially removing a time delay between the electric signals output from the photodetecting unit, for calculating a ratio between the electric signals, and for comparing the ratio with a predetermined reference value to diagnose sleep apnea, and a controller for outputting the control signal to the light source unit to generate the light signals, and for providing the predetermined reference value to the diagnosis unit.

  • Patent number: 7162295
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for recognizing positive/negative intention using a fine change of gamma wave of a brainwave comprising the steps of detecting the brainwave from a head of a user, receiving and amplifying the brainwave detected from the step of detecting the brainwave, converting the amplified analog brainwave to one of a digital type, and recognizing the positive/negative intention of the user by detecting the fine change of the gamma wave of the brainwave in the digital type, which is transmitted from the A/D converting portion, whereby it is possible to implement an application of a real time interface and minimizes inconvenience for the user, and it requires no separate user practice.
