  • Publication number: 20220305428
Abstract: Embodiments of gas concentrating systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes, for example, a plurality of modules connectable and disconnectable from each other to thereby adjust the (gas) capacity and modality of the connected system. In this manner, a user need not maintain one system for on the go (ambulatory) scenarios and a wholly second system for stationary (e.g., at home) scenarios. The systems and methods further provide the ability to gradually upgrade the system capacity consistent with the user's lifestyle and medical needs.

  • Patent number: 8934639
Abstract: A device for modifying audio signals to be output within a room is introduced. The device exhibits an input for supplying audio information and a processor unit for modifying the audio information. The device further exhibits at least two outputs for distributing respectively modified audio information. The processor unit is here adapted to modify the audio information in such a way that respective sound sources to be connected to the outputs simulate a linear sound source for outputting the audio information according to the audio signals. The linear sound source is here achieved via the coherent coupling of a plurality of point sound sources, for example loudspeakers.

  • Patent number: 8666472
Abstract: A “relaxoscope” (100) detects the degree of arterial endothelial function. Impairment of arterial endothelial function is an early event in atherosclerosis and correlates with the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease. An artery (115), such as the brachial artery (BA) is measured for diameter before and after several minutes of either vasoconstriction or vasorelaxation. The change in arterial diameter is a measure of flow-mediated vasomodification (FMVM). The relaxoscope induces an artificial pulse (128) at a superficial radial artery (115) via a linear actuator (120). An ultrasonic Doppler stethoscope (130) detects this pulse 10-20 cm proximal to the point of pulse induction (125). The delay between pulse application and detection provides the pulse transit time (PTT). By measuring PTT before (160) and after arterial diameter change (170), FMVM may be measured based on the changes in PTT caused by changes in vessel caliber, smooth muscle tone and wall thickness.

  • Patent number: 8544173
Abstract: A turbine nozzle may be repaired by severing the inner band from the vanes and outer band, which may then be discarded. A replacement nozzle is cast to include replacement vanes extending between a replacement outer band and an inner web, with the replacement outer band and vanes conforming with the original outer band and vanes. The new web is configured differently than the old inner band and includes a tie bar. The inner band is machined to form vane seats. The web is machined to form plinths atop the tie bar at each of the replacement vanes. The plinths and tie bar are assembled through the vane seats and bonded to the machined inner band to collectively form the repaired turbine nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20130156555
Abstract: Braze materials, brazing processes, and coatings produced therefrom, for example, a wear-resistant coating suitable for protecting surfaces subjected to wear at high temperatures. The braze material includes first particles formed of a metallic alloy and second particles formed of a cobalt-base braze alloy having a melting point below the melting point of the first particles. The braze alloy consists of, by weight, 3.5 to 15.0% silicon, 2.0 to 6.0% boron, and the balance cobalt and incidental impurities, and the second particles constitute at least 30 up to 90 weight percent of the first and second particles combined. Following a brazing cycle performed on the braze material, a wear-resistant coating is formed in which the first particles are dispersed in a matrix of the braze alloy.
