  • Patent number: 11993471
Abstract: A raising assembly for use with a gangway connected for rotation between a raised stowed position and a lowered deployed position. The raising assembly comprises at least one fluid actuated cylinder connected to the gangway. A raising actuator is operative to cause operation of the cylinder in a manner that rotates the gangway toward the stowed position while the raising actuator is continuously activated by an operator. A lowering actuator is operative to cause operation of the cylinder in a manner that rotates the gangway toward the deployed position due to gravitational forces while the lowering actuator is continuously activated by the operator. The raising assembly is configured to maintain the gangway at a current position between the stowed position and the deployed position if the operator does one of ceasing to activate the raising actuator while raising the gangway or ceasing to activate the lowering actuator while lowering the gangway.

  • Publication number: 20240160624
Abstract: A distributed database system for handling transactions from multiple client systems. A database node receives a request to execute a transaction from a first client, involving a record modification. This record has an associated check-and-set (CAS) value that changes with modifications. The record is sent to the first client, which identifies the CAS value. Similarly, a second client sends a request for another transaction, receives the record, and identifies the CAS value. One of these clients attempts to stage a mutation based on their transaction. This includes sending the previously received CAS value. The system checks for a CAS value mismatch, indicating a conflicting mutation from another transaction. If a mismatch is detected, the transaction attempt is aborted to prevent conflicts. Otherwise, the mutation is staged, and the CAS value is updated.

  • Publication number: 20240159584
Abstract: A method for profiling a laser beam includes receiving the laser beam at a thermochromic interface of a detector. A temperature set point for the detector can be selected. The temperature set point can correspond to an equilibrium temperature at the thermochromic interface. The method can also include capturing an image of the thermochromic interface and using the image to determine a partial intensity profile corresponding to at least a portion of the beam intensity profile. A reconstructed beam profile can be assembled using the partial intensity profile. If the reconstructed beam profile is not complete, the method can include iterating over additional temperature set points to determine additional partial intensity profiles. The method can also include determining that the reconstructed beam profile is complete and outputting the reconstructed beam profile.

  • Publication number: 20240157423
Abstract: An improved paintless dent removal tool and method of use is disclosed. The paintless dent removal tool generally includes a hand-held jack member having a grip mechanism, a sleeve member, a rod member, a slide bar, a first tension adjustment knob member, a second tension adjustment knob member, a first foot member, and a second foot member. In use, the first tension reduction knob member and the second tension reduction knob member are manually adjusted to the pull the first foot member and the second foot member outward, thereby reducing tension on the surface of the vehicle surrouding the area of the dent. Simultaneously, the grip mechanism is pulled by a user to manually raise the rod member upward to pull out and remove the dent on the vehicle surface.

  • Patent number: 11985142
Abstract: A cyber defense system using machine learning models trained on the classification of structured documents, such as emails, in order to identify a cyber threat risk of the incoming or outgoing structured document and to cause one or more autonomous actions to be taken in relation to the structured document based on a comparison of a category the structured document is classified with, a score associated with the classification and a threshold score. For incoming structured documents, the autonomous actions of the cyber defense system may act to contain a malign nature of identified incoming structured documents. For outgoing structured documents, the autonomous actions of the cyber defense system may act to prevent the structured document from being sent to an unintended recipient.

  • Publication number: 20240148067
Abstract: A mouthpiece assembly for an inhalation device including a replaceable substrate component and a replaceable substrate component therefor. The mouthpiece assembly includes a mouthpiece which is essentially a hollow tube within which fluid flow can occur along a substantially longitudinal axis thereof. Within the mouthpiece, a cavity region is formed which is adapted to receive and locate the substantially planar elongated substrate component, such that it interacts with the fluid flow when occurring. The substrate component includes a substrate which can be excited sufficiently to cause aerosolization, and the substrate is fixedly mounted within the substrate component in an orientation and location whereby a channel formation or a conduit of the substrate component at least partially coincides with the cavity region, and thus the surface of the substrate in that cavity region is exposed to, and may be entrained within, whatever fluid may be flowing in that channel or conduit.

  • Publication number: 20240143786
Abstract: A system includes a memory and processor. The memory stores code segment vulnerability findings that were generated through static application security testing (SAST). For a first code segment, a first vulnerability finding has been classified as a real vulnerability, and a second vulnerability finding has been classified as a false positive by external review. The processor generates a code fingerprint for each code segment, which corresponds to an abstract syntax tree that has been augmented by data flow information and flattened. The processor determines that the fingerprint for the first code segment matches the fingerprint for a second code segment and that the vulnerability findings for the first code segment match those for the second. In response, the processor automatically classifies a matching first vulnerability finding for the second code segment as the real vulnerability, and a matching second vulnerability finding for the second code segment as the false positive.
