Patent number: 7386877Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates specifying a repository containing authentication information to a plugin in a plugable authentication system. When the system receives a command that requires the repository to be accessed, the system populates a data structure with information including a specifier for the repository. The system passes this data structure into a plugin framework. This enables one or more plugins within the framework to access the specified repository.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2002Date of Patent: June 10, 2008Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Gary W. Winiger, Darren J. Moffat, Joep J. Vesseur

Patent number: 7377547Abstract: A method of folding together a vehicle side curtain airbag is provided that includes bending a base section of an extended air bag toward the outboard side of the vehicle and fully over onto a middle section of the air bag located directly above the base section. The adjacent base and middle sections are then rolled, as a group, by first moving a crease line between the base and middle sections toward the outboard side of the vehicle, then curling the crease line back toward the unrolled portion of the base and middle sections and then rolling the remainder of the unrolled portion of the base and middle sections. A top section of the airbag is collapsed in a pleated manner.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2006Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Cari Schimpff, Yoshihiko Morita, Toru Kobayashi, Daniel B. Winiger

Patent number: 7248582Abstract: A method and system for labeling data in a networked environment. The method and system comprise determining if a label should be added to a portion of data having an associated first header. If so, a second header is constructed containing a label. The second header is indicated in a reference in the first header. The label contains at least one attribute of the data. The second header is attached to the first header. The portion of data is then transmitted, along with the headers. In one embodiment, the second header may contain credential information related to the data portion.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2002Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Kais Belgaied, Gary Winiger

Publication number: 20060159574Abstract: The invention relates to a piston pump whose piston (4), via its upper and lower piston faces, delimits the working space inside the pump cylinder (5) on both sides. The working space (c) is joined via a lever system (19, 22, 25, 28, 31) to two force-guided inlet valves (14, 16) and two force-guided outlet valves (10, 12) that each alternately open and close for filling or discharging the working volume upon reaching both final positions of the piston. An additional working volume, which is reduced by the volume portion of the piston rod, is obtained by the piston being acted upon twice per working stroke as described by the invention thus nearly doubling the efficiency and resulting in a delivery flow with few pulsations. A small residual pulsation remains only from the short period of time during which the valves change from open to closed upon reaching both end positions of the piston inside the cylinder.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2004Publication date: July 20, 2006Inventor: Gerhard Winiger

Patent number: 7058656Abstract: A data structure extension system for dynamically adding extensions to existing data structures without interfering with underlying code. The data structure extension system includes logic that allows a programmer to “privately” extend fields of existing entries in data structures in the operating system's kernel without interfering with the functionality of the overall data structure for other applications. An extension pointer disposed in the data structure associates each entry of the data structures extended with a respective extension table. The extension table allows for the dynamic addition of non-intefering interfering fields to the data structures. Each extension table entry has corresponding data stored in an external storage unit.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2002Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventors: Gary W. Winiger, Bradford R. Wetmore, John E. Zolnowsky
