  • Patent number: 8037134
Abstract: According to the present invention a method and an apparatus in a packet-switched network for supplying data packets to receivers (4a-c) belonging to a multicast group are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a routing means (2) for receiving data packets from a sender (1) and for buffering data packets the destination address of which is a multicast address of a multicast group. The apparatus further comprises a control means (3) communicating with the routing means (2) for determining the addresses of the receivers (4a-c) of the multicast group indicated by the multicast address and receiver-specific parameters, for designating filters for each receiver (4a-c) and/or each determined receiver address in accordance with the receiver-specific parameters and for supplying the determined addresses and designated filters to the routing means (2).

  • Patent number: 7924838
Abstract: According to the present invention, a plurality of data packets are received and routed by a router (1) in a data network. The router (1) comprises storing means (11) for storing a pre-defined list of rules for detecting special data packets, detecting means (12) for detecting special data packets in the received plurality of data packets on the basis of the pre-defined list of rules stored in said storing means (11), and routing means (13) for requesting instructions for the special data packets detected by said detecting means (12) and for routing the special data packets in accordance with instructions received on request. According to the present invention, an advanced service architecture for next generation network services is provided. In this service architecture, the functions of the detecting means (12) and the routing means (13) can be achieved by a service trigger and a service logic, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20050085222
Abstract: This invention describes a block-by-block software updating process for mobile devices using modifications to a memory structure and a start-up process of the mobile device, that are necessary to allow a fail-safe and secure update of the device software. The memory of the mobile device is modified to store a software block currently updated during the software-update, but not overwriting an original block with an updated block before the updated block is verified. This prevents software from entering an unrecoverable inconsistent and nonfunctional state in case of a power loss or a similar problem. Furthermore, the memory modification allows altering a checksum procedure of the mobile device software to prevent any unauthorized modifications of the mobile device software.
