  • Patent number: 7823698
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for raising and lowering a three-stage forklift mast assembly having a reduced overall lowered height. A first linkage system on the outer and middle masts creates a 2:1 movement ratio of the middle mast with respect to movement of a piston arm in the first linkage system. A second linkage system on the middle and inner masts creates a 2:1 movement ratio of the inner mast with respect to the movement of the middle mast and an overall 4:1 movement ratio with respect to the movement of the piston arm in the first linkage system. A third linkage system on the inner mast creates a 2:1 movement ratio of a set of forks on the inner mast with respect to the movement of a piston arm in the third linkage system, allowing free lift of the forks.

  • Publication number: 20090200117
Abstract: An improved slider scissor lift results in forward or backward movement of a raised work platform. The forward or backward movement is achieved by positioning upper pins and sliders oppositely from lower pins and sliders. This oppositely pinned configuration results in an operation whereby the base of the scissor lift is moved toward the rear of the base platform and the work platform is drawn toward the rear of the scissor lift.

  • Publication number: 20090200836
Abstract: A gusseted torsion system minimizes torsional deflection in an open frame vehicle having a generally U-shaped frame with two generally parallel beams. The gusseted torsion system includes cross members extending between the parallel beams and gussets adjacent each end of the cross members. The gussets are affixed to the parallel beams to counter torsional forces created by loads exerted on the parallel beams.

  • Publication number: 20080095578
Abstract: A boat lifting and stacking vehicle having a low profile frame, a carriage connected to a frame via a transverse I-beam track, a mast having a pair of forks protruding therefrom, and a hydraulic suspension system. The vehicle further includes an operating console that moves transversely and vertically with the carriage for enhanced operator visibility. Additionally, the vehicle does not require extra counterweights as the length of the frame and location of the engine equipment and fuel tanks provide adequate rotational balance for even the heaviest boat loads during the boat storage process. Moreover, the front wheel bases include a pair of deployable hydraulic cylinders that work in combination with the wheels as a weight distribution means. For proper loading and unloading alignment, a variety of steering options are available via the computer operated controls.
