  • Publication number: 20190194978
Abstract: A locking apparatus (3) for securing a luggage article (1) comprises a mechanism for unlocking the locking apparatus (3) including at least one moveable member (11, 12, 13) which is moveable in an unlocking operation. The locking apparatus (3) has at least one detector arrangement (42, 49, 55a, 55b) associated with at least one moveable member (11, 12, 13) by at least one linkage (19, 37a, 37b, 41) between the detector arrangement (42, 49, 55a, 55b) and the moveable member (11, 12, 13), the linkage (19, 37a, 37b, 41) triggers the detector arrangement (42, 49, 55a, 55b) upon the movement of the moveable member (11, 12, 13).

  • Publication number: 20190082792
Abstract: Footwear or other foot-receiving devices include various conforming fit, stability, and/or “locked down” feel features. The uppers (or foot-covering components) for such articles of footwear (or other foot-receiving devices) may include one or more of: (a) an upper shell defining an interior chamber, wherein the upper shell includes a plantar support surface and sidewalls extending from an outer perimeter of the plantar support surface; (b) a bootie component (e.g., formed as a sock or sock-like garment) received in the interior chamber; (c) one or more foot wrapping bands; and/or (d) an interior midsole within the bootie component. The bootie component and/or the foot wrapping band(s) may be secured to the upper shell at a location inside an outer perimeter of the plantar support surface of the upper shell and beyond the bight line between the sidewalls of the upper and the plantar support surface.

  • Patent number: 10095342
Abstract: An apparatus for sensing user input includes a first strain gauge grouping attached to an inner surface of a housing of a device, and a second strain gauge grouping attached to the inner surface of the housing. The apparatus includes a circuit coupled to the first and second strain gauge groupings, the circuit being configured to: (i) receive a first parameter signal from the first strain gauge grouping in response to user input that interacts with the housing over a location of the first strain gauge grouping, (ii) indicate that a first type of user input has been received in response to receipt of the first parameter signal, (iii) receive a second parameter signal from the second strain gauge grouping in response to user input that interacts with the housing over a location of the second strain gauge grouping, and (iv) indicate that a second type of user input has been received in response to receipt of the second parameter signal.

  • Publication number: 20180284906
Abstract: An apparatus utilizes multiple strain gauge (“SG”) sensing units which are each disposed adjacent an inner surface of the device housing. Electrical voltage generated by the SGs is amplified by one or more amplifiers to maximize the resolution between a voltage output of an SG when in a non-pressed state and a voltage output of the SG when in a pressed state. Additionally, an electronic circuit is configured to identify a baseline voltage output for an SG over a period of time for comparing to a voltage output for the SG when the SG is in a pressed state such that the pressed state of the SG can be identified by the electronic circuit by comparing a current output voltage of the SG to the identified baseline voltage.

  • Patent number: 10067651
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are generally directed to navigable layering of viewable areas corresponding to a hierarchical structure of computer-readable content. In exemplary embodiments, a stack of viewable areas including a first viewable area and a second viewable area can be rendered on a display within a footprint area. An order of the viewable areas in the stack can correspond to a hierarchical relationship of computer-readable content and the viewable areas can include information associated with the hierarchical relationship. The second viewable area in the stack can be adjusted, for example, by resizing and/or repositioning the second viewable area, based on a compression criteria to accommodate the viewable areas of the stack within the footprint.

  • Publication number: 20180174130
Abstract: Various methods are provided for facilitating access to linked information to GPS or short-range wireless equipped devices. One example method may comprise receiving, via a network, an indication of an interaction between a primary device and a third-party device, the indication comprising at least a first element and a second element, the first element indicative of user identification information and the second element indicative of at least one of a location or a bounded region, determining, as a function of at least the first element and the second element, a data object that upon validation is configured for use a subsequent interaction, and transmitting, to a mobile device, an electronic communication comprising an indication, configured for rendering on the mobile device, of the data object.
