  • Patent number: 8827119
Abstract: Dispensers, refill units and pumps are disclosed herein. The refill units include a container secured to a pump. Some exemplary refill units for dispensers include a container for holding a liquid and a post seal pump. As the post seal pump operates, a piston moves up and down over the pump seal. When the piston shaft is in a first position, fluid flows into the pump chamber and one or more apertures through the piston shaft are sealed off by the post seal. When the piston shaft is in a second position, the piston engages a wall of the pump chamber and the one or more apertures are away from the post seal to provide a fluid path from the pump chamber to the interior of the hollow piston shaft and is dispensed through an output.

  • Publication number: 20140231462
Abstract: Exemplary metered dose dispensers are disclosed herein. One exemplary embodiment includes a container and a one-dose dispenser secured to the container. The one-dose dispenser includes a dosing chamber; a shuttle member movable within the dosing chamber; an outlet valve located at an end of the dosing chamber and an outlet located downstream of the outlet valve. A liquid inlet is also included for allowing liquid to flow into the dosing chamber to an area between the shuttle member and the outlet valve. Pressurizing liquid in the container moves the shuttle member from a first position to a second position and dispenses the liquid in the dosing chamber; and when the shuttle member is in the second position, the shuttle member seals off the outlet valve.

  • Patent number: 8540456
Abstract: A modular dike or barrier assembly includes straight and curved members that may be interconnected to form a barrier or dike wall surrounding a primary container. The members are hollow and include opposed side walls having integrally formed reinforcing ribs. The side walls extend at an acute angle relative to the base of the barrier to contain and redirect a surge flow directed toward the dike or barrier assembly. The interior surfaces of the side walls are closely spaced at locations spaced from the ribs and tend to abut for added wall reinforcement upon application of wall deflecting loads.

  • Publication number: 20120151667
Abstract: A toilet flushing assembly (500) comprising an actuating device (600) installable within the toilet tank (200) and an initiating device (700) accessible from outside the toilet tank (200). The flush-actuating device (600) comprises an electric motor (610) that converts a passageway (620) between a rest condition and a flush condition. The flush-initiating device (700) initiates operation of the flush-actuating device (600), preferably in either a light-flush mode or heavy-flush mode, depending upon the deposit made in the toilet bowl.

  • Patent number: 6234359
Abstract: A dispensing tool according to the present invention includes a dispensing outlet and at least a first material storage tube having a material storage chamber and an outlet. The tool also includes a drive assembly that is at least partially disposed within the first material storage tube and adapted to dispense material from the first material storage tube through the dispensing outlet. A valve assembly selectively controls the flow of material from the material storage tube to the dispensing outlet. The valve assembly and the drive assembly are linked such that activation of the drive assembly causes the valve to open allowing material to be dispensed. When the drive assembly is stopped, the valve is automatically closed. Material may be reloaded into the material storage tube through an inlet that is selectively connected to a source of bulk material. The selective connection may be provided by a controllable valve, or a selective connection between a pair of coupling elements.
