  • Patent number: 11823658
Abstract: The disclosed technologies include methods for generating a calibration model using data that is selected to match the conditions of a particular trial that involves an automated comparison of data samples, such as a comparison-based trial performed by an audio-based recognition, identification, or detection system. The disclosed technologies also include improved methods for selecting candidate data used to build the calibration model. The disclosed technologies further include methods for evaluating the performance of the calibration model and for rejecting a trial when not enough matched candidate data is available to build the calibration model. The disclosed technologies additionally include the use of regularization and automated data generation techniques to further improve the robustness of the calibration model.

  • Publication number: 20230335114
Abstract: In some examples, a computing system includes a storage device configured to store a machine learning model trained with audio feature values to determine a reliability of an audio segment for performing speech processing; and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to: receive an audio dataset comprising a sequence of audio segments; extract, for each audio segment of the sequence of audio segments, a set of audio feature values corresponding to a set of audio features; execute the machine learning model to determine, for each audio segment of the sequence of audio segments, a reliability score based on the set of audio feature values corresponding to the respective audio segment, wherein the reliability score indicates a reliability of the audio segment for performing speech processing; and output an indication of the respective reliability scores determined for at least one audio segment of the sequence of audio segments.

  • Publication number: 20220044077
Abstract: In some examples, a system includes a storage device; and processing circuitry having access to the storage device. The processing circuitry is configured to receive information indicative of a media dataset, where the media dataset corresponds to an object; and analyze the media dataset to compute a corresponding set of operating condition weight values. Additionally, the processing circuitry is configured to compare the set of operating condition weight values corresponding to the media dataset with a plurality of sets of reference operating condition weight values that each correspond to a different reference media dataset of a plurality of reference media datasets; and determine, based on the comparison of the set of operating condition weight values with the plurality of sets of reference operating condition weight values, an indication of a capability of a trained machine learning model to correctly verify the object in the media dataset.

  • Patent number: 8006726
Abstract: A tree stump coring apparatus and method of coring a tree stump using the same is provided. The tree stump coring apparatus includes an elongated cylindrical cutting blade of a hollow tubular body rotatable about a vertical axis with cutting blades on an open lower end of the cutting blade for mounting on a vehicle such as a skid steer loader which provides a means to rotate the cutting blade and a means to move the cutting blade in a generally vertical direction downwardly to core a tree stump and upwardly to remove the tree stump core from the ground.
