  • Patent number: 7316112
Abstract: An improved rotary spool control system for a closed hydrostatic circuit and method to use the same. The control spool utilizes metering of the spool notches and specifically the metering of the servo drain notch wherein the drain notch is of irregular cross sectional shape. Because of the metering and irregular cross sectional shape, this spool is able to provide an aggressive response while still having smooth linear control. The method of creating the feedback control includes displacing pressurized fluid through the hydrostatic circuit rotating the control spool to create an error signal removing the error signal with a control sleeve and metering the servo piston drain with the irregularly shaped metering porting notch.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 8, 2008

  • Patent number: 6247297
Abstract: A jackknifing row unit for a combine cornhead comprising a hood pivotally connected between a divider and a row unit frame. A four-bar linkage formed by a tension member and a compression member interconnected between the hood and the row unit frame supports the divider. The four-bar linkage is movable between the row unit operating position and the jackknifed storage position.

  • Patent number: 6237312
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for a stripper plate in a cornhead row unit includes two slots formed through the plate adjacent its outer edge. The slots define narrow plate segments from the outer edge. Arcuate surfaces are formed on inner and outer edges of the plate segments. An actuation arm associated with each slot has opposed fingers which engage a corresponding arcuate surface when the lever is manipulated to adjust the stripper plate position.

  • Patent number: 6226969
Abstract: A cornhead for an agricultural combine has a plurality of row units including generally U-shaped frames. Each frame includes parallel side frame sections on which stripper plates are mounted. One of the stripper plates is adjustable transversely of the corresponding side frame section by an actuator mounted within the side frame section. The actuator includes a torque shaft operatively connected to the adjustable stripper plate through the top plate of the side section.

  • Patent number: 6216428
Abstract: A stalk roll set for a corn-harvesting combine includes first and second rolls adjacent one another, each having an axis of rotation and defining a shear zone therebetween. At least one pair of flutes projecting radially from each roll. The pair of flutes being bilaterally symmetrical and each including a knife edge with a leading surface and a trailing surface forming an acute angle therebetween, whereby the flutes of the adjoining stalk rolls are offset to and overlapping one another.

  • Patent number: 5826415
Abstract: An improved row crop header is provided for an agricultural harvesting machine. The row crop header includes a frame and a plurality of row units mounted to the frame. Each of the row units has a first gatherer and a second gatherer, both of which have an upper surface. The first gatherer includes a continuous belt. The first and second gatherers are mounted to the frame such that the upper surfaces of the first and second gatherers form a trough. This arrangement of the first and second gatherers allows row units to be spaced closer together.
