Publication number: 20240083117Abstract: A method of printing a multi-material part in a layer-wise manner with an extrusion-based 3D printer includes providing a sliced digital model of a multi-material part and determining a number of materials in each of the slices of the digital mode. The method includes utilizing a digital model of a purge tower having N subdivisions having a closed geometry, wherein N is the number of print heads needed to print the part that is greater than or equal to three, each adjacent subdivision contact one another along an interface and assigning each print head to one subdivision and to tool paths forming the one subdivision in each layer. The method includes reassigning the assigned subdivision within the purge tower of an inactive print head in a layer to a print head that is active in the layer of the multi-material part.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Aaron Daniel Gregg, Keith Wade Kooiman, Karl Anthony Nelson, Paul Joseph Leavitt, Thomas James Studanski, Subramaniam Jayanti

Patent number: 9883774Abstract: A portable sink includes a container for holding wash water, an inlet line to bring fresh water into the container, and an outlet line to remove wastewater from the container. A float valve on the inlet line maintains wash water at a selected level within the container. A faucet attached to the float valve may further provide a separate source of clean water to the user. The outlet line further includes a siphon to draw the wastewater from the container to a selected discharge location. The inlet and outlet lines may form an assembly with an inverted U shape so that the device may straddle the wall of a bucket so that no piping penetrations are made through the wall. The siphon preferably includes an airlock to prevent the ingress of air at the discharge end under conditions of less than maximum flow.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: February 6, 2018Inventor: Martin Aaron Wade

Patent number: 6560718Abstract: A method, apparatus, computer implemented method and computer programmed product for recovering data from a split sector associated with an inoperable servo timing mark. Instead of using a servo timing mark to synchronize the read/write head to the spin speed variation of a storage media, the trailing end of the data fragment preceding the inoperable servo timing mark is used as a reference point. After detecting the reference point, the read operation is halted a predetermined delay time after which the read operation is resumed recovering the data from the sector relying on the inoperable servo timing mark.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1999Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: STMicroelectronics, Inc.Inventor: Aaron Wade Wilson

Patent number: 6526476Abstract: a firm ware based technique related to managing defective data sector information in a disk drive. Specially, technique provides for a dynamic method by which the number of spare or served alternate sectors and their locations can be allocated in the event defective data sectors exist. One advantage of the present invention exists for certain applications where the capacity and/or configuration of the drive are configured at run time. The present invention also has the advantage of improving performance when accessing “grown” defects by allowing the block relocation information to be placed physically closer to the location of the defective blocks.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1999Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: STMicroelectronics N.V.Inventors: Aaron Wade Wilson, Wayne Aaron Thorsted

Patent number: RE38885Abstract: The invention comprises a magnetic disk storage system and comprises method for configuring the magnetic disk storage system. The magnetic disk storage system facilitates write and read operations that compensate for variances that are experienced with magnetic disk storage systems. When writing data to a data sector, the magnetic disk storage system utilizes a phase lock oscillator field that has a length that is specified for that data sector. When reading from a data sector, the magnetic disk storage system utilizes an incremental read delay that has a duration that is specified for that data sector. Data sectors with shorter data sector delay periods can have shorter phase lock oscillator fields than data sectors with larger data sector delay periods. This frees-up memory space and increases the capacity and performance of the magnetic disk storage system.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2002Date of Patent: November 22, 2005Assignee: STMicroelectronics N.V.Inventor: Aaron Wade Wilson
