  • Publication number: 20240168162
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are drawn to apparatuses and methods for a rotating optical reflector. Optical systems may have a limited field of view, and so in order to expand the area that the optical system collects data from, the field of view of the optical system may be scanned across a target area. The present disclosure is directed to a rotating optical reflector, which includes a transmissive layer which refracts light onto a reflective layer, which has a normal which is not parallel to the axis about which the optical reflector is rotated. The optical reflector may be both statically and dynamically balanced, which may allow an increased size of the optical reflector, which in turn may increase the aperture of an optical system (e.g., a lidar system) using the rotating optical reflector.

  • Publication number: 20240167864
Abstract: Techniques for detecting water hazard conditions proximate to a structure are disclosed herein. An exemplary computer-implemented method may include receiving, from a sensor disposed proximate to the structure, a water level signal, and determining a water level proximate to the structure based upon the water level signal. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include detecting, by executing a water hazard model, a water hazard condition based upon the water level proximate to the structure, and determining (i) a recommended mitigation action to mitigate damage to the structure from the water hazard condition and (ii) a cause of the water hazard condition. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include generating an alert signal indicating the water hazard condition and the recommended mitigation action.

  • Publication number: 20240169459
Abstract: Techniques for detecting emergency conditions within structures and initiating remediation procedures are disclosed herein. An exemplary computer-implemented method may include detecting, by one or more processors, an emergency condition within a structure; and determining, by the one or more processors, a set of remediation services corresponding to the structure based upon the emergency condition. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include identifying, by the one or more processors, one or more remediation service providers to perform the set of remediation services; and generating, by the one or more processors, a remediation alert signal that includes contact information corresponding to at least one of the one or more remediation service providers. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include transmitting, by the one or more processors, the remediation alert signal to a user computing device of a user associated with the structure.

  • Patent number: 11989718
Abstract: In one embodiment, a payment service system may receive a request to split a bill between two or more peer users. The request may include information identifying at least the two or more peer users and an amount of the bill to be split. The two or more peer users may be identified based on determining a presence of two or more mobile devices that are respectively associated with the two or more peer users. The payment service system may send a payment request to each mobile device associated with the two or more peer users. The payment service system may receive a response, which may indicate the respective user's approval of a specified amount for payment of a portion of the bill associated with the user. The payment service system may cause a funds transfer based on specified amounts approved by the two or more peer users.

  • Publication number: 20240083063
Abstract: A method for setting an axial position and gap dimension of a gap between one or more score blades and an anvil shaft of a rotary scoring device, includes providing a control system including a controller, at least one sensor, and at least one adjusting device actuated by the control system, and actuating the at least one adjusting device in response to the at least one sensor sensing a deviation from a desired state, thereby setting the axial position or the gap dimension between the one or more score blades and the anvil shaft. The method further includes actuating the at least one adjusting device is achieved as a result of the control system operating in a closed feedback loop, and sensing by the at least one sensor occurring with or without disruption of operation of the rotary scoring device.

  • Publication number: 20230342705
Abstract: Systems for data measurement and collection are provided. A data collection system may comprise a database configured to store data about objects to be tracked, and optical codes corresponding to specific database entries may be generated, printed, and provided in physical proximity to the object to be tracked. When a user scans the optical code with a mobile electronic device, the mobile electronic device may automatically upload geographic information to the database and may prompt the user to enter measurement information to additionally be uploaded to the database. Sets of optical codes may be configured to collect user-specified types of data, and the optical codes may be provided in printable sheets; virtual visual representations of the sheets may be displayed on an electronic interface, and the virtual visual representations may indicate which of the codes have or have not been registered with the system.

  • Patent number: 11287831
Abstract: There is provided an electrically-powered material-transport vehicle having a vehicle-charging contact on one side of the vehicle, and a second vehicle-charging contact on the opposite side of the vehicle. The vehicle has a load-bearing cap that covers the top of the vehicle, and a cap elevator for raising and lowering the cap. The cap can be raised and lowered to a transit position, a payload-engagement position, a charging position, and a maintenance position. In the transit position and payload-engagement position, the cap covers the vehicle-charging contacts so that they are not exposed. In the charging position, the cap is raised so that the vehicle-charging contacts are exposed. The vehicle can enter a charging-dock with the cap in the charging position in order to recharge the vehicle's battery.
