  • Patent number: 7560152
Abstract: A joining structure in a laminate includes metal layers as well as at least one adhesive layer which is enclosed by the metal layers, which metal layers each include separate metal-layer parts having a pair of overlapping edges, which pairs of edges are offset with respect to each other and together define a joining region. The laminate includes a section which is of standard construction and a section which contains an additional, internal reinforcing metal layer, the reinforcing metal layer including two reinforcing metal-layers parts with a pair of overlapping edges, the pair of edges being located outside the joining region.

  • Publication number: 20060159887
Abstract: A laminate of metal layers and plastic bonding layers situated between the metal layers includes two external metal layers extending substantially continuously and at least one internal metal layer. At least one of the internal metal layers has at least one opening, and at the position of the opening the other metal layers and plastic bonding layers are bonded together to the form of a packet of lower thickness. The relatively thick parts of the laminate can be used for the transfer of forces.

  • Publication number: 20060159886
Abstract: A laminate has alternating metal layers and at least one plastic bonding layer. The metal layers each comprise at least two metal layer sections that have mutually overlapping edges bonded to one another. To even out the differences in thickness, a fill is provided which has at least a thickness such that at the location of the fill the laminate has a thickness equal to the thickness at the location of the overlapping edges.

  • Publication number: 20060011294
Abstract: In the production of a laminare from metal layers (7) and fibre-reinforced plastic bonding layers (8) a pack (6) is formed that is placed on a forming jig (1). An evacuation medium (12) and a vacuum film (13) are placed over the pack, such that the pack can be pressed onto the forming jig under the influence of a vacuum. Finally, the layers are bonded to one another in an autoclave under the influence of heat and pressure. Especially in the case of larger workpieces, the problem arises that the various layers shift with respect to one another. This is frequently undesirable and the layers have to be held in the correct position with respect to one another. According to the invention, for this purpose a pin (4) is provided that is fixed relative to the forming jig. The various layers have holes (9), such that they can be placed on the forming jig in the correct position with respect to the pin. The evacuation medium and the vacuum film are then laid on top of the pin and the vacuum is then applied.

  • Publication number: 20050089704
Abstract: In a laminate, comprising at least one series of metal layers (3, 4) and fiber-reinforced plastic layers (6-9) which are attached to one another, at least two different series (1, 2) are provided, these series including a transition (12), and at the location of the transition (12) at least one of the internal layers (4, 9) is discontinuous and all the other layers (3, 6-8) are continuous.

  • Publication number: 20050037225
Abstract: A method for the production of a laminate consisting of metal layers as well as at least one fibre-reinforced bonding layer (5-7) that is located between the metal layers (1-4), which laminate has at least one region (9) that has a smaller number (3, 4, 7) of layers than the reminder of the laminate, comprises the following steps: forming a stack (8) consisting of metal layers (1-4) and at least one fibre layer (5-7) impregnated with a binder, which stack (8) has a first series (11) of successive layers (1, 2, 5, 6) with a different surface size to a second series (12) of successive layers (3, 4, 7), such that one (12) of the series of layers protrudes with respect to the other series (11) of layers, placing an auxiliary tool (14) at the protruding portion (19) of the protruding series (12) of layers alongside the other series (11) of layers, which auxiliary tool (14) has a make-up that is the same as that of said other series (11) of layers, activating the fibre-reinforced bonding layers (5, 6, 7) under

  • Publication number: 20050037223
Abstract: A method for the production under elevated pressure and temperature of a laminate (1, 1?) consisting of a pack with alternating metal layers (2) and plastic bonding layers (3), comprises stacking a first series (8) of layers on top of one another in a mould, then stacking at least a second series (7, 7?) of layers on top of the first series (8) of layers, with the formation of the pack of layers such that at at least one edge of the pack at least one (7, 7?) of the series is stepped back with respect to the other series (8), an auxiliary tool (12) being placed alongside the stepped-back series (7, 7?) and on the other, non-stepped-back series (8) and a gap (13) being formed between the stepped-back series (7, 7?) and that side (14) of the auxiliary tool (12) facing said series, raising the temperature and the pressure on the pack and the auxiliary (12) tool such that the binder in the plastic bonding layers (3) is made to flow and some of the binder present in the stepped-back series (7, 7?) collects in said
