Patent number: 9579230Abstract: An orthotic device for correcting an abnormality in a newborn baby's neck includes a three element rigid or semi-rigid support member. The support member includes three elements, each in the shape of a frustum of a cone with one element stacked on top of another. The first or bottom element has a larger open base and a smaller upper portion and flares outwardly from top to bottom from vertical by about 20°. The middle element flares outwardly from bottom to top by about 20° and is superimposed on the first element. However, the second element is rotatably fixed to the first element and is rotatable in about one mm increments. The upper element flares outwardly from vertical by about 45°. A method for correcting an abnormality in a newborn's neck in one mm increments per day using the aforementioned device is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2015Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Inventor: Abdulreidha Abdulrasoul AlSaffar

Patent number: 9539134Abstract: An orthotic method for newborn babies includes the step of providing a newborn orthopedic device constructed and dimensioned to fit a newborn baby within hours of birth for a skeletal modification. The method also includes the step of conducting a thorough physical examination of a newborn baby for skeletal abnormalities by an orthopedic or medical professional. A newborn baby is fitted with an appropriate device to correct the prevailing skeletal abnormality and the device is adjusted to overcome the physical abnormality by an increment of one millimeter and allowed to remain in that position for 24 hours. Thereafter the method increases the bias by adjusting the orthopedic device by a movement of about one millimeter and applying the increased bias for about 24 hours before further adjustments in one millimeter increments each for about a 24 hour period.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2015Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Inventor: Abdulreidha Abdulrasoul AlSaffar

Patent number: 8998833Abstract: An orthopedic device for correcting abnormalities in the wrist, hand, fingers and thumb of a newborn baby comprises a lightweight glove shaped semi rigid shell constructed and dimensioned to fit a newborn baby within a few hours of birth. A wrist or lower arm and hand engaging portion are rotatably connected and adjustable in one millimeter increments. The adjustments are made with no more than one millimeter correction per 24 hour period. The shell includes a wrist and lower forearm engaging portion, a hand engaging portion and a finger engaging portion and is adjustable for rotationally clockwise or counterclockwise about the longitudinal axis of the lower arm bone. Further adjustments may be made to rotate the fingers upwardly or downwardly, to the left or right and rotationally and/or rotational movement between the hand and lower arm. The invention also contemplates an orthopedic method for correcting skeletal abnormalities of the wrist, hand, fingers and thumb of a newborn baby.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2014Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Inventor: Abdulreidha Abdulrasoul AlSaffar

Patent number: 8554292Abstract: The wristband for an electronic device provides for the convenient storage and transport of a small electronic device, such as a cell phone, calculator, etc. The wristband has a swivel connector attached thereto. A two-part holder assembly is attached to the swivel connector. An electronic device may be installed in the inner holder. The inner holder extends from the outer holder for use, and retracts into the outer holder for storage. The holder and electronic device are normally oriented with their major axes normal to the circumference of the wristband, i.e., generally aligned with the arm of the wearer of the device. The holders are swiveled to align their major axes across the arm of the wearer and the inner holder is extended from the outer holder in order to access the electronic device therein. This procedure is reversed for storage of the electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2012Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Inventor: Abdulreidha Abdulrasoul Alsaffar

Patent number: 8545126Abstract: The portable traffic safety barrier is formed of plastic or recycled rubber, and has a narrower upper portion and wider cap atop the upper portion to form a mushroom-shaped cross section. Elongate passages are formed through each barrier section, and a spring is installed in at least one passage to connect the barriers resiliently to one another end-to-end. Another passage contains a flexible coiled electrical cord to provide power for lighting the barrier, the lighting being installed atop the barrier sections. The springs and coiled cord allow connected barriers to separate in the event of impact, while still maintaining the integrity of the assembly and lighting. Wheels may be provided beneath the barrier sections to allow lateral repositioning. Two or more rows of barriers may be arranged laterally, and the resulting gap between barriers serves as a planter box or for the installation of signage.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2013Date of Patent: October 1, 2013Inventor: Abdulreidha Abdulrasoul Alsaffar
