  • Patent number: 9939870
Abstract: A method and apparatus reduce power consumption and mitigate declining battery life. In some embodiments, an initial full charge capacity, C(O), of a rechargeable battery is determined. A full charge capacity, C(t), of the rechargeable battery is determined at time t. An average power consumption profile is determined. A reduced power consumption is implemented based on the average power consumption profile and a factor C(t)/C(O). In other embodiments, functions that are not used in an average power consumption profile are deactivated. Other functions that occur in certain use cases of the average power consumption profile are activated and deactivated as needed.

  • Patent number: 9696886
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for communicating reminders of pending tasks to users of electronic devices before the electronic devices lose battery power. According to certain aspects, an electronic device can generate (220) a battery trigger when the battery level decreases below a certain threshold. The electronic device retrieves (224, 226) a listing of pending scheduled tasks, incomplete tasks, and routine tasks that a user may wish to complete. The electronic device presents (232) the listing of pending tasks to the user and enables the user to select (234) one or more of the pending tasks. The electronic device initiates (240) a corresponding application to enable the user to complete the selected pending task.

  • Publication number: 20160019506
Abstract: A communication device (100) can include a user interface (105), a communication circuit (106), and one or more processors (103) operable with the user interface and the communication circuit. One or more memory devices (109) can store one or more applications operable on the one or more processors. The one or more processors can receive, with the user interface, a calendaring event request (802) for an event and one or more organizational policies (204) defining one or more predefined rules (401,402,403) in accordance with which multi-party events are to be scheduled. The one or more processors can automatically fragment the event into two or more separate sub-events (1101,1102,1103,1104,1105,1106,1107,1108,1109,1110,1111) in accordance with the one or more predefined rules.
