  • Patent number: 4836829
Abstract: Vehicle driveability problems associated with deposits formed in multiport fuel injectors are alleviated by delivering fuel comprising a particular amine containing various C.sub.6 to C.sub.24 alkyl, aryl, cycloaliphatic, heterocyclic, substituted alkyl or substituted aryl groups and C.sub.1 to C.sub.24 alkyl, aryl, substituted alkyl or aryl, cycloaliphatic or heterocyclic groups. Particular amines include bis(2-hydroxy ethyl) cocoamine, bis(2-hydroxy ethyl tallow amine, bis(2-hydroxy ethyl) stearylamine, dimethylcocoamine, dimethyl hydrogenated tallow amine, dimethylhexadecylamine and mixtures thereof. Fuels containing the amine are stabilized against emulsions by inclusion in the fuel of certain demulsifiers. In the preferred embodiment, the amine is in combination with an oxide derivative thereof.

  • Patent number: 4826506
Abstract: Certain polyhydric alcohols have been found to be effective in reducing the loss of certain amine oxides from liquid hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline.

  • Patent number: 4810263
Abstract: An additive package for reducing and/or preventing injector fouling in a multiport fuel injection means is described. The additive package preferably comprises a particularly described amine oxide, one or more particularly described demulsifiers, and a particularly described solvent system.

  • Patent number: 4283203
Abstract: This invention relates to petroleum fuel compositions with improved haze properties, said fuel composition containing an anti-haze additive comprising an hydroxylated resin acid and/or a selected metal resinate salt.

  • Patent number: 4209422
Abstract: A multicomponent demulsifier comprising an alkoxylated substituted-phenol-formaldehyde resin and at least two different alkoxylated polyamines or a quaternary ammonium salt and an alkoxylated polyamine. The demulsifier is useful in breaking hydrocarbon-in-water or water-in-hydrocarbon emulsions including those comprising a substituted hydrocarbon. Moreover, when the alkoxylated polyamines are used, rather than the quaternary ammonium salt, the multicomponent demulsifier retains reasonable effectiveness even after a first water phase has been separated.

  • Patent number: 3998725
Abstract: A method for separating organometallic compounds from liquid hydrocarbons containing the same wherein the liquid hydrocarbon is contacted with a contact material comprising: an adsorbent selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica-alumina and silica gel; cupric chloride impregnated on the adsorbent; and water. The presence of water in the contact material is essential to good separation performance. The contact material may also comprise an amine which may be present either as a reaction product or a complex.
