A method for controlling at least one sensor unit, which can assume different measuring states, on a construction machine is also provided. The method includes controlling the measuring state of the at least one sensor unit both by at least one operating device spatially separated from the at least one sensor unit, and by controls attached to the at least one sensor unit itself.
