Abstract: Electric contact element made of a sheet metal stamped part having a fit-on region for fitting to a conductor track of a flat conductor, the fit-on region having a planar base plate and a spring arm with locking arms at a distance above the base plate, and contact tongues being provided which penetrate the insulation material of the flat conductor during fitting, advance as far as the conductor track, scrape along the conductor track and establish contact, and method for producing the electric contact element. The contact tongues and at least one locking arm are attached to the longitudinal edges of the spring arm.
