  • Patent number: 10634456
Abstract: An accessory mounting device to mount an accessory to a weapon such as a firearm provides a base coupled to a mount member, and an attachment body coupled to the mount member. The mount member and attachment body define an interlocking mesh such that the mount member couples to the attachment body in any one of a plurality of positions for which a first component of the interlocking mesh engages with one of a plurality of second components of the interlocking mesh.

  • Patent number: 10627192
Abstract: An accessory mounting device to pivotably mount an accessory to a weapon such as a firearm provides recoil dampening and generally includes an accessory mount, a weapon attachment base, an arbor, and a detent mechanism. Advantageously, to flip or rotate the accessory mount through about 90 degrees between a first position above the base and a second position along a side of the base requires only grasping the accessory mount and rotating it from either of the positions through 90 degrees to the other position. No separate manual action to disengage any type of locking device is required, nor is any longitudinal or lateral translation of the mount involved. The function of providing stabilized, consistent location in each of the two positions, resistance to movement from each position, and manual movement of the mount that overcomes the resistance and rotates between the positions is provided by the detent mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9726087
Abstract: A method of forming a flapper assembly (200) for a throttle valve (100) is provided. The method includes steps of forming a flapper (110) comprised of hub (112) having an opening (114) and at least one vane (116a,b) coupled to the hub (112), disposing a shaft (210) in the opening (114), and pressing a punch (P) into an outer surface (112a) of the hub (112) such that a torque dimple (118) extends from the hub (112) into the shaft (210) to fasten the flapper (110) to the shaft (210).

  • Publication number: 20170051634
Abstract: A system for an engine (101) comprises a heat recovery system and a gaseous fuel supply system. The heat recovery system comprises a first reservoir (104) for fluid, at least one evaporator (121) for transferring heat from an engine to the fluid, a vapour expander (129) for converting fluid vapour energy into motive power, and a condenser (134). The gaseous fuel supply system comprises a second reservoir (90) for liquefied gaseous fuel and a fuel evaporator (91) for expanding liquefied gaseous fuel into gaseous fuel for the engine. The condenser (134) is in thermal contact with the fuel evaporator (91).

  • Publication number: 20080087013
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a reciprocating or Wankel engine, an exhaust gas passageway fluidly coupled to the engine, and a fuel-fired burner. The burner is positioned in the exhaust gas passageway and comprises a swirler configured to swirl exhaust gas of the engine so as to stabilize in the exhaust gas passageway a flame generated by the burner without use of supplemental combustion air when the engine is operating above idle. An associated method is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080020333
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a supplier of air and/or fuel, a main passageway fluidly coupled to the supplier to receive air and/or fuel therefrom to provide a fuel-rich air-and-fuel main mixture in the main passageway, and a pilot flame generator mounted in the main passageway. The pilot flame generator defines therein a pilot passageway that is fluidly coupled to the supplier to receive air and/or fuel therefrom and is fluidly coupled to the main passageway to receive air and/or fuel therefrom to provide an air-and-fuel pilot mixture in the pilot passageway. The pilot flame generator comprises an ignition device configured to ignite the pilot mixture to generate a pilot flame that initiates a partial oxidation reaction of the main mixture so as to generate reformate gas. An associated method is disclosed.
