  • Patent number: 11368351
Abstract: A simulation view network streamer is disclosed. A first request is received to generate a first network view stream from a first view that exists in a simulation of a virtual environment. The first view is defined by first view data that identifies a first portion of the virtual environment encompassed by the first view. The first request includes a first destination address of a first output device. A second request is received to generate a second network view stream from a second view that exists in the simulation of the virtual environment concurrently with the first view, the second request including a second destination address of a second output device. A stream of images of the first view is sent to the first output device, and a stream of images of the second view is sent to the second output device.

  • Patent number: 10748440
Abstract: A projectorless simulator that includes an adjustable frame is disclosed. The adjustable frame defines an interior volume, and is adjustable in width and height to allow a shape of the interior volume to be varied. A chromakey screen is coupled to the adjustable frame to at least partially enclose the interior volume. A plurality of lights is mounted with respect to the adjustable frame. The plurality of lights is configured to emit light in a direction toward the chromakey screen.

  • Patent number: 10657717
Abstract: A simulator is disclosed. A cockpit model comprising a plurality of cockpit model parts that collectively correspond to a simulated cockpit in a simulated vehicle is maintained. For each frame of a plurality of frames, a plurality of cockpit view frustums are determined, each cockpit view frustum corresponding to a different cockpit view of a plurality of cockpit views of the simulated cockpit. Shared cockpit scene information comprising a set of cockpit model parts that are within any of the plurality of cockpit views is generated based on the plurality of cockpit view frustums. A processing device submits to a graphics processing unit (GPU) the shared cockpit scene information and GPU instructions that direct the GPU to generate a plurality of cockpit view images that correspond to the plurality of cockpit views from the shared cockpit scene information. The GPU generates the plurality of cockpit view images.

  • Patent number: 10565799
Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) device is disclosed. The HMD device includes a frame and a display system coupled to the frame. A stereo depth camera system coupled to the frame generates stereo depth camera information comprising frames of imagery and depth data that identifies a distance to a simulator cockpit of a simulator. A processor device is coupled to the stereo depth camera system and to the display system. The processor device identifies, based on the stereo depth camera information, a particular cockpit model that corresponds to the simulator cockpit and that identifies a layout of cockpit controls of the simulator cockpit. The processor device, based at least in part on the cockpit model and a physical location of the simulator cockpit, generates computer-generated imagery. The processor device sends the computer-generated imagery to the display system to overlay the computer-generated imagery on top of a portion of a real-world scene.

  • Patent number: 9563723
Abstract: Generation of an observer view in a virtual environment in response to real-time input during a simulation is disclosed. In one embodiment, a device initiates a simulation of a virtual environment. Core view data that identifies a core view in the virtual environment is maintained. The core view is associated with an object in the virtual environment. Core view imagery that depicts a portion of the virtual environment based on the core view data is generated. During the simulation, real-time input that includes first observer view data that identifies a first observer view in the virtual environment is received. The first observer view is unassociated with any object in the virtual environment. First observer view imagery that depicts a portion of the virtual environment based on the first observer view data is generated.
